After Harry had somehow controlled his laughter, he sat next to Hermione who was petting Heroneka's head. Heroneka lost all hope. Why had she turned into a cat? From what she had observed so far, her fur was pearly white. Buckbeak sat at a distance, watching her calmly. He hummed a few notes every now and then which Heroneka was understanding.

Apparently, Heroneka had turned into a kitten. She had no idea why she was even a cat, let alone a kitten. Buckbeak seemed very happy to see her though. He kept staring at her, making funny noises.

"What's so funny?" The kitty Heroneka purred getting out of Hermione's lap and walking up to Buckbeak.

She was sure that now, every time the kitty Heroneka said something, Hermione and Harry could only hear her purring, hissing, making kitty noises. Neither were they able to understand Buckbeak, nor the kitty Heroneka.

"Why are you so tiny?" Buckbeak grunted. "I could squish you with my talons. Or just gulp you down."

"I dare you to do that!" The kitty Heroneka hissed. "Maybe if I die again, I will wake up as a human."

Harry and Hermione watched her walk, purring and hissing, settling next to Buckbeak and then got busy talking about a Patronus Harry had seen that saved them from the Dementors.

"I would never harm you." Buckbeak touched his beak on Heroneka's tiny kitty head and she jumped away from him. "You saved my life. I will be free soon." He made a sound.

"Tell me," she purred sniffing his fur. "Why did you bow down to me when I commanded you? I almost snapped at you."

"Oh, well!" Buckbeak yawned. "You got a halo. You got a golden halo, to be accurate. That means you're a Queen. Everyone bows down to a Queen."

Heroneka wondered if he meant to say Angel and ended up calling her Queen. But she didn't want to communicate too much with him. He seemed very much like a warrior. Heavy voice, ready to attack, fearless, and too protective. He had spread his right-wing over the kitty Heroneka like some tent. She was crouched right next to him, under the wing, safely.

Hermione kept glancing back at Buckbeak and the kitty Heroneka.

"Do you think she will transform back to a girl?" Harry asked her quietly.

The kitty Heroneka and Buckbeak could hear them. She shifted back, further under the shade of Buckbeak's huge wing. It was dark there and Harry couldn't see if she was listening to them or not.

"I'm sure she will, Harry," Hermione assured him. "It's -- I think, it is a part of her evolution. Angels are capable of transforming into other living beings. She has died five times now! You heard Dumbledore, right? Only two more deaths to go! Maybe... This death is going to bring some major changes in Snitchy."

The kitty Heroneka rested her tiny head on top of her little paws, she stared at Harry and Hermione, feeling sad and unheard. She wanted someone who could understand her... Someone who could help her in this phase. Ron kept bobbing in her mind. He would have hugged Heroneka and kept talking to her, even though she was a kitten right now.

"You don't have to be scared." Buckbeak raised his wing slightly. "Every magical creature goes through some troubled times. That's what adds magic to it."

The kitty Heroneka purred softly.

"Hagrid talks a lot about you and the boy, Harry!" Buckbeak went on. "He keeps telling me how you have died so many times. Yet, you only get stronger."

When the kitty Heroneka didn't make a sound, Buckbeak tapped his giant beak softly on her head.

"Trust me!" He made a piping sound. "This is just a phase."
