Kai sat in his ship anxiously awaiting his arrival on Luna.  He hadn't seen Cinder since he left after her coronation, over 4 months ago.  Although they had commed almost every night he still missed her more than anything.

When his ship landed he, in very un-emperor-like behavior,  sprinted over to the door practically jumping up and down awaiting the doors of the ship to open so he could see Cinder.  Kai felt a hand on his shoulder, turning he saw Torin looking stern as always, "Kaito, you need to calm down."

"But Tooorrrin" Kai said, reminding himself slightly too much of a toddler,  "I'm so excited to see her.  I haven't been able to talk to her or see her face or hold her or anything in like forever."

Torin rolled his eyes and gave Kai a patronizing simile "Yes I understand that you miss Her Majesty, but there is a chance she won't even be here to greet us.  Your first official meeting with her isn't for three hours, she is probably busy until then or she would have scheduled your meeting for sooner after we arrived."

Kai slumped his shoulders "ya your probably right chances are she meet some hansom lunar guy, fell madly in love, got married, and has absolutely no interest in seeing me at all."

"Kaito," Torrin said trying to keep in an eye roll "I have been comming with Iko about this trip for a month now and she says that cinder is over the... moon to see you.  So I need you to take a deep breath and calm down.  If Her Majesty cant greet you on the landing pad I'm sure that your meeting will be very uncomfortable for everyone else in the room."

Feeling a grin come onto his face, Kai steadied himself and waited to get off of his ship.  Less than five minutes later the door opened letting in the stale scent of Luna.  His eyes immediately began to scan the crowd looking for Cinder.  He found Iko almost instantly thanks to her bright blue hair but Cinder was not with her.  Reasoning that if she was her she would be with her best friend, he stopped searching and felt his joy deflate.

Iko ran over to him her blue braids bouncing with every leap-like step.  She picked Kai up in a tight hug and spun him around in the air.  Grinning she set him down bounced on the balls of her feet.  "ahhh Kai," she shouted, her joy palpable, "I'm so glad that you are here!!  Cinder couldn't come down to greet you, she is way too busy being a girl boss, my words, not hers, to come and greet you today.  But I am here to show you to your room and take a bunch of pics with you."

Although Kai was clearly disappointed he was still happy to see Iko.  He followed her off the ship and to his room, periodically stopping in places that she said 'have the best light in all of Luna' to take a bunch of selfies together.  When the 10-minute walk to his room, made longer by all the photo stops, ended his bags were set on his be by palace staff and Torin went to find his own room down the hall.  Kai sat on the edge of his bed already bored and wishing Cinder was with him.

Heaving a great sigh, he stood up from his overly soft bed and began exploring the large room that had been set out for him.  As he was about to move on from looking at the empty closet to looking at the empty dresser he heard a small knock on his door.  He skipped over to his door eager for a distraction from the intense boredom that had taken over him in the last minute and forty-five seconds that he had been left to himself.

Opening the door excitedly it took him a moment to register what he was seeing.  Standing before him clad in a black jumpsuit and silver high-heeled shoes was the most beautiful person he had seen in his entire life, Cinder.  Face alight with a beautiful grin, one of her hands took his and the other pressed a finger over his lips telling him to be quiet.
