Noah's POVI woke up the following day with sunlight streaming onto my bed, a sign I had to wake up and get my ass out of bed. It was the first day of senior year after all, and at least I didn't have football practice before my first hour.
I felt tired and didn't want to remove myself from my comfy position in bed until a sneaky yet pleasant thought of Shelly crept into my mind. She always had a way of getting glued in my brain on the most random occasions, not complaining though. I imagined how she might look today. Knowing Elle, even with her simple uniform, brunette hair down without styling it, and wearing super natural makeup, she'll still look as gorgeous as ever. It was one of her many of her striking features. While other girls tried their hardest to look pretty, Elle never tried and didn't care to impress others as often, although she impressed me all the freaking time with how divine and delicious she looked. As thoughts and images of her danced around my mind, my heart quickened and I couldn't help smiling for just a second.
I get up a few minutes later to stretch and flex my muscles in front of my mirror to give myself a boost of confidence. I was 6'5", which gave me an ultra-masculine appearance that I enjoyed (and could attract attention with, just as long as it was the right person and not two hundred high school girls).
Damn you look good, Flynn.
Compared to Elle, I towered a foot over her, making her seem so little. It was another thing that was so adorable about her: she was petite. I was the big strong knight in shining armor while she was my dainty princess.
I chuckled, threw on my school uniform with a leather jacket, grabbed my backpack, and headed downstairs. I also made sure to spray some cologne on to add.
I smelt eggs and bacon cooking as I walked into the kitchen. Lee sat at the table already in his uniform too, as he scarfed down a plateful of breakfast. My mom turned around from her place at the stove and gave me a warm smile.
"Morning, sweetie, would you like something to eat before your big day? Not every day is your last first day of high school." She winked.
I was hungry but I thought about grabbing breakfast from a café near the high school. I walked up to my mom and gave her a thankful kiss on her head. "Nah, that's okay, but thank you, Mom."
"Oh, come on! Your brother always wants your mama's food."
"Yeah, it's hella good, Mom." Lee complimented, finishing off his last bite. "Thank you so much."
Mom rolled her eyes a bit at the minor language but she smiled. "Your welcome, honey. By the way, are you taking Elle to school this morning?"
"Yep, gotta pick her up pretty soon."
Lee was Elle's own personal transportation since she didn't have her license yet. I would take and pick her up from places sometimes when Lee wasn't available or busy, and I loved when I had the chance to. I always played it off like it was no big deal, but being in a car alone with the girl you like does things to you. It was our own personal time, even if we didn't have much to discuss.
"Sounds good," Mom said. "And you are working on the fundraiser for the carnival with her today?" I wondered what was in store for this year, but I was sure it was going to be an interesting one. Lee's got his ideas.
My brother placed his fork on his plate and grabbed his bag before swinging it over his shoulder. "That's correct. See you later Mom and see you at school, tough man." He ran out of the house and rolled my eyes playfully at his nickname for me.
"I should probably head out too. See you later, Mom." I gave her a squeeze goodbye and went to the garage.
My beautiful motorcycle that I just cleaned and polished stood there ready for me to take her to school. I was proud to have such a sweet ride. I liked to think that while everybody else drove cars, I was a badass that took a bike. Riding a motorcycle was always my thing and my favorite pastime for that matter. I felt free as the wind blew gently on my face and rode fast along the road, especially by the California coast.
I opened the garage door, placed on my helmet, and took off.
