Title: Christmas Blowout

The town is bustling, preparing for the party as Christmas is approaching. Today is the twenty-third of December, year two past nineteen eighty. The party will be held at the local stadium in the town center.

A boy who was accompanied by an artificial leg was walking down the street. He is looking left and right as he passes through the pedestrian lane. He was going to the local cafeteria, selling newspapers. The boy rushes inside and sold half of his paper within minutes. He was pleased with that moment. He went outside and skipped the lines of the tiles where a crooked man called him.

"Hey kid, I want to buy some newspapers," said the crooked man with an angry face.

"It's just eight pesos," the boy handles the newspaper as he said, "Thank you!!"

"Kid!! I have a warning. Get out of this place before nine o'clock in the evening. This place is meant to be blown," the man said.

The boy got frightened and ran away. He never looked back. He was scared. He was leaving the busy scene in town.

"Oh boy," the boy bumped at the businessman.

"I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry," said the boy

"It's okay!! It seems like you were frightened, is there something wrong?" the businessman asks

The boy negatively replied, "Nothing."

The businessman left his doubt when he bought the newspaper from the boy. The businessman knew there was something wrong. But he was too busy to take action, so he proceeds with his business in town.

They all say he was the mayor's best friend, one of his best colleagues. He rushed to the town center, and he is now going to the city hall.

"This is going to be a huge event," said the mayor to the businessman as the businessman opens the door in the Mayor's Office.

"Yes, it is going to be great!! How's the plan?" said the mayor.

"It all went very well, and all will be prepared within hours, Mr. Mayor."

"Make sure it is perfect."

"Yes, Mayor!"

The businessman left the office, leaving the Mayor sitting on the chair. The mayor is laughing because he knows that preparing for this party is very stressful to him as he makes sure that everything is perfect and well placed.

Kriiinnnggggg!!!! As the telephone rings on his left. He stared and dared to pick that up with his right hand.

"Hey Mayor," the voice said. "It's Christmas, and you will be blown up!!"

"Who is this?"

". . ." the telephone has lost the contact.

The Mayor dropped the telephone, and with any great doubt, he knew that there was a blowout. He quickly called his secretary on the same telephone.

"Miss, I want you to be here. I have something to say to you right now!!"

"Yes, Mr. Mayor!!"

As the secretary arrives and opens the door to the Mayor's office. She saw the Mayor sleeping with arms crossed and his glasses dropped off.

"Mr. Mayor, sorry to disturb your sleep, but you called me, so I'm here. What's wrong?" The secretary said.

The secretary is worrying because the Mayor wouldn't answer. She observed the Mayor and found out that he was dead.
