(Another short one because of time skip!)
Many chunks of minutes of restless tossing and turning accompanied the alpha as he tried falling back to sleep; it was a futile battle with the thought of Felix in grave danger and all Chan could do was lay here and hope for the storm to pass (he could run out into it, ignoring the lightning and sharp winds, but would probably get lost wandering the forest for hours while getting absolutely waterlogged; it was dark and the rain was strong, rendering vision and scent practically useless. Only Jisung's impeccable hearing would be able to pick up screams through the occasional break in the booming thunder). Plus, there was no guarantee that he would even make it in time, no guarantee that he wouldn't be attacked first; and he wouldn't be much use to anybody if he was dead. And that's if his pack would even let him get away with leaving; none of them know Felix, none of them have loved ones to worry about in the village. Chan has a responsibility to his members before an outsider: that is what dynamics and politics call for in the wolf world. Being a leader and being a loyal leader means that his place is here in a time of crisis above all else, no matter who outside of his pack may need his assistance. Felix is a lone omega who rejected his offer to join the pack, therefore having no priority over the wellbeing of Chan's members even if they aren't in any immediate danger.
From his position as leader, Chan can't leave this house and put himself in danger; just like he wouldn't be able to even if he tried because nothing gets past Minho's keen eyes (and he most certainly didn't need his pack doubting his ability of being head alpha after all the tension between the seven of them already).
After about an hour of wrestling with his sheets, loud banging on the front door cuts through the pounding of the rain and he is, once again, up with a start. He stumbles his way down the hall but Changbin is already there: an angry his scowl has pulled his brows tightly together as he swings open the door and braces the elements, a grunt leaving his mouth at the whip of cold and wet winds against his skin that was warmed by the fireplace just moments ago.
Chan can't see much until a flash of lightning lights up the sky and the features of their drenched visitor becomes apparent enough to leave a gasped name crawling quickly up the alpha's throat. "Felix?"
The silvernette's usually pale eyes are darkened with instinct and adrenaline in the moonlight but the stony expression and panting halts at the sound of Chan's voice and his tight-strung muscles visibly slacken. The alpha rushes forward and all but shoves his dumbfounded pack member out of the way as Felix falls to his knees, the injured and unconscious body in his arms becoming all the more visible as it unceremoniously meets the wet doorway.
And when Chan's wide brown orbs gaze in horror at the sight of Lee's blood on Felix's hands and staining the water pink as it runs down from the omega's cloak, a sound, deep and raspy with disuse, emanates from parted cupid bow lips; he almost missed it over the pouring rain and the loud thumping of his heart, but weeks of practice reading those very same lips has Chan catching the silvernette before his head hits the body in his arms. "Save him."
