"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

Kuroha ran as fast as she could while covering her ears. She ran aimlessly as she was trying to hide from the pain. She kept crying although only one eye produced tears. Her other eye ached, but it didn't bother her.

She didn’t know where to go. She couldn’t do anything. She reached the point where her tears blurred her only source of sight, and then she tripped down.

She stayed there, lying on the cold asphalt ground.

"I'm sorry, i'm sorry… *hic*"

"Someone please--"

From the other side of the road, a man in his seemingly typical all-white attire, matching his snow-hued hair, was calmly strolling.

"It looks like it will rain, eh?" The new Yuki looked at the dark netherworld sky as he walked through the pathway.

As he continued walking, he heard a sobbing echo from across the road. Unable to discern at what he was looking, he silently approached the crying creature.

"What's wrong, lass? What happened?" asked Yuki as he stretched his hand to help the crying shinigami up.

"Hey, you're that newly assigned death god the other day!" exclaimed Yuki as he recognized the sobbing Kuroha.

Kuroha slowly turned to the shadow that was offering her help. Kuroha's eyes widened. She saw strands of white hair which reminded her of the mentor she trusted.

"LET GO OF ME." She freaked out, and crawled away from the person.

"You're all the same...! Everyone is a puppet--- even me.. and.. I.. I… *hic* I can't even do anything..."

She stood up and tried to run in fear-- but her trembling knees didn't allow her, and so she tripped once more.

Yuki then suddenly grabbed hold of Kuroha, who was about to fall.

"Hey now, hey! Ladies don't run away from me that easily right after seeing me," said Yuki to the clueless Kuroha. "What is wrong with you now?"

Kuroha remained silent. Yuki then thoroughly looked at her.

"Her color is orange. It seems that something traumatic brought her soul to this drastic state." said Yuki in his mind.

"Her life time seems unaffected though, this might be something self-limiting but still... oh?"

Suddenly, heavy rain poured down from the dim sky.

Kuroha fell to her knees and didn't care about getting drenched by the rain. She remained silent and tried to struggle from the man's grasp. All of a sudden, Kuroha muttered something.

"Nee, nii-san."

Kuroha tilted her head to face the white-haired man.

"Can you hear them too?"

"Hear what?" asked Yuki.

"The cries of injustice from the souls you reaped." Kuroha spoke in a blank, monotonous voice.

Suddenly, the young lady fainted.

"Oh boy… out of all places, why here?" said Yuki in dismay.
