Ever since my passion for music blossomed, I had dreams of becoming a singer or pursuing a musical career. However, tragedy struck when my parents met with a fatal car accident in the hospital. My mother's final words to her best friend, Linda, were a heartfelt plea, "Linda, please take care of (y/n) for me." And just before his demise, my father entrusted his friend Rick with a message, "Rick, if anything happens to me or (mother's name), give (y/n) this and love them like your own child. If not, I'm coming for you."

Following the funeral, the Mitchells, who had become an extended family due to my mother and Linda's friendship, took me in. Among the possessions my parents left me were my father's family ring and my grandmother's guitar adorned with painted crows...

Now, let's delve into my new life with the Mitchells. : )

As I sat in my room, engrossed in music and reading fanfiction, Linda called out to us, "Kids, dinner! Coming!" I removed my headphones/earphones and made my way to the kitchen.

Taking my seat next to Aaron, Kate entered the room with two empty bottles, playfully drumming on Aaron's head. "Haha, stop," he protested.

While Kate and Linda engaged in conversation, I paused my music and turned to Aaron, sensing that something was bothering him. "Hey, Aaron, what's on your mind?" I asked, concerned. He hesitated, mumbling, "Uh, it's nothing."

Kate took a seat on the other side of Aaron and understood the look on my face. "Katie, you know how velociraptors usually hunt in pairs? Well, what happens when one leaves the pack and... and, um..."

Kate looked at Aaron with sympathy, and he continued nervously, "Aw, dude, don't worry. You'll make new friends. Maybe you'll meet another smart, charming, dinosaur-loving nerd. Or lady nerd." We chuckled at Kate's amusing description.

"What? No. Who... who would want that?" Aaron laughed nervously. "That's crazy. I can't breathe."

We laughed along with Aaron, and I teased him, saying, "Do you think we'll be okay without you, Katie?" Kate smiled at Aaron and me, saying, "I know you guys will." They shared a special handshake, and we all laughed.
