We were en route to Washington when we decided to stop and rest at a hotel with three bedrooms. Luckily, each of us got our own room.
The hotel had a pool, and we headed there around 6:34 am. Eric and Deborah knew they couldn't join in, so I stayed out of the pool with them. "Come on, (y/n), get in," they urged. "No, I'm fine," I replied, taking a seat in the middle of them.
"Why don't you want to get in?" I looked over at Deborah. "I just feel like you guys will be left out," I confessed. Suddenly, Eric pulled my legs onto his lap, and both of them stood up. Confused, I asked, "What's happening?" Before I knew it, I found myself swinging back and forth, held by Eric and Deborah, who were gripping my hands and feet.
"Eric, Deborah! Guys! Don't you dare!" I shouted. I forgot to mention that they had become more human-like and remembered my name, but they still struggled with remembering the Mitchell family's name. It was quite amusing to watch the event unfold. "Throw her!" Kate yelled at them. "Don't—" Eric glanced at me. "Sorry, but it's too late, (y/n)," he said mischievously. "God damn it!" I exclaimed, and with the final swing, I splashed into the water.
Everyone burst into laughter, including Eric and Deborah. "I hate you all," I grumbled. "No, you don't," they retorted. After an hour of fun, we went inside for dinner.
It was 8:25 pm.
After dinner, I headed to bed—or at least, I pretended to. Instead, I stood by the window, playing my guitar. After the whole robot incident, I hadn't had much time to play it.
I strummed the guitar for a while when I heard my door open, and Linda entered. "Oh, hi Linda," I greeted her. "Hi, sweetheart. Can I talk to you?" she asked. "Mhm."
I walked over to the bed. "What do you want to talk about?" I asked as she sat down next to me. "It's about your relationship with the bots," she began. "You think it won't work out, huh?" I looked at her with a touch of sadness. "W-what? No, no, not that. I do think it will work out. But don't you think you should tell them about your personal life? They'll get curious one day."
"But what if they don't understand?" I questioned. "Sweetheart, if they truly love and care about you, they will try to understand," she reassured me. "I'll think about it," I replied, knowing that I wouldn't reveal everything just yet. Linda nodded and kissed my forehead. "You should get some sleep, no staying up late. Good night, sweetheart," she said, aware that I was likely to defy her advice.
"Okay, okay, fine. I'll go to sleep in a little bit. But goodnight, Linda," I smiled at her as she left. Returning to the window, I grabbed my headphones/earphones and began humming or singing along to the music, playing it loud enough to drown out any other sounds.
Unbeknownst to me, the bots entered the room. Deborah wrapped her arms around my waist, lifting me up. "What? Oh, it's you guys," I said, lowering the volume of my music. Deborah gently placed me on the bed, and both of them climbed in beside me.
I took off my headphones/earphones and asked Eric if he could place them on the counter next to him. "You two know I'm upset about being thrown into the water," I complained. They both lay down on my chest. "We wanted you to have fun and not miss out. You're still young," Eric explained. "We want you to enjoy yourself while you still can. Can you do that for us?" They both looked up at me, and I let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll do it for you guys," I said, smiling sweetly and placing my hand on their heads.
"Now, come on, it's time to sleep, you dummies, before Linda kills us," I teased. Deborah looked at me, worried, and asked, "Mother will never do that, right, brother?" Eric responded, "No?" We all chuckled. "Guys, don't worry. It's just an expression," I said, laughing at their innocence. They lay their heads on my chest, their arms wrapped around my waist. "Hey, before we go to sleep, what would you guys like to know or see?" I asked. "Oh, I have one. Why did you accept our... what do humans call it?"
"Confession?" Eric helped Deborah with the word. "Yes, confession. Why did you? You're a human, and we're robots. You could have found a human boy like yourself, but you chose to date us."
"Well, I wasn't very popular in school. Kate was my best friend since 3rd grade, and well, I had over six friends while everyone else had ten or more. Even the whole class thought, 'Damn, even (y/n) has more friends than me. I wish.' But no one caught my attention when it came to liking or dating a person. But you two caught my attention. Even though you aren't humans, I don't care. Both of you are more loving and caring than any stupid human guy. So, if you think I wouldn't accept both of you, you're both wrong. You are both dumb and smart, funny and serious, super adorable, and very lovable—my lovable idiot robots. If the whole robot thing hadn't happened, the Mitchell family's relationship would have been broken, and I would have never met you two." With each word, they buried their heads (if they could) deeper into my chest.
The warmth of their bodies was enough to keep me comfortable. I giggled, realizing my words had turned them into a blushing mess. "We appreciate the compliments, (y/n). We feel the same way about you," Eric responded. Suddenly, Deborah asked, "Wait, what time is it?" "It's 10:03," Deborah replied blankly. "Oh, shit! We've been talking for that long. Okay, time to sleep."
They both nodded, and we snuggled together, their arms wrapped around me. As they kissed their screens, I returned the gesture. "Night, guys. I love you both," I whispered as I closed my eyes.
That night, from Kate's perspective:
I woke up at 3 in the morning and glanced to my left. Aaron was sound asleep, accompanied by what (y/n) called "bread-looking dogs." Getting out of bed, I grabbed my phone since it was too dark.
Switching on my phone's flashlight, I made my way to the restroom. After taking care of business, I began walking back to the room. That's when I noticed a nightlight. "Wait, the room I was in didn't have a nightlight," I thought to myself. Curiosity piqued, I glanced over at the corner and saw (y/n) cuddled up. I smiled to myself 'other good thing the robot apocalypse happen It's that (y/n) met two silly bots who love and care about them' grabbing my phone I take a picture of them then I got a message from a random number.
