"So, where exactly is it that we're going?"
Zhongli looked over his shoulder at Diluc as the two walked, giving him a curious look.
"Did I not say that we were going to eat breakfast?"
"Yes I understand that." Diluc let out a barely audible sigh. "I'm asking where we'll be going."
"Oh. Uh right. I was thinking about a cafe? A new one recently opened up, I've heard good things about it. But if you don't want to go there, we can go elsewhere." He quickly added
"I believe I've heard of it too. I'm fine with going there. It'll be a nice change of pace." Diluc muttered
Zhongli nodded and they walked in silence for the rest of the trip. After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at a nice looking cafe, which seemed not that full surprisingly
Zhongli rushed to open the door, gesturing for Diluc to come in. "After you."
Diluc blinked at the man before nodding, stepping inside and waiting for Zhongli to enter as well. "Thank you."
"Anytime. Shall we take a seat?" Zhongli nodded towards a table for two.
Diluc nodded, heading towards the place that Zhongli chose. Shortly after the two sat down, an employee came to take their order.
"Usually we don't take orders directly at the customer's table." The girl seemed very bright, a smile on her face. "But since it isn't busy, I figured I could take your order." She readied a notebook. "What can I get you?"
"Actually, this is our first time coming here." Zhongli said apologetically. "We don't know the menu options."
"Oh, sorry! I didn't realize. I'll get you two menus immediately!" The girl rushed to go get the menus, returning shortly after. She handed them the menus and smiled. "I'll be back in a few to take your order."
The men nodded, opening up their corresponding menus and browsing the items. The girl ran off, probably to take care of something else.
"Do you know what you're ordering?" Zhongli had already chosen his food and was looking at Diluc.
"Yes. I think. I'm not too familiar with these products. I'll just get what I'm used to." Diluc closed and placed down the menu. He crossed his arms and looked around, a small frown on his face.
Zhongli felt as if Diluc deserved to be taken to a five star restaurant, judging by the way the man carried himself. He hoped the redhead didn't think less of him for taking him to a small time restaurant such as the one they were currently in.
The girl returned once more. "Ready to order?"
She spoke to no one in particular, so the two men spoke at the same time.
"I'll take a black coffee and a blueberry muffin."
As they spoke, Diluc and Zhongli slowly turned to look at each other, suprise mirrored in their expressions.
"Mhm mhm, got it!" The brunette finished writing their orders with a smile. "You two are such a cute couple!"
"We are not a couple!" Diluc snapped out of whatever trance he had with Zhongli, his voice coming out more harsh than intended. He noticed the girl's startled expression and immediately felt bad. "Sorry. You've misunderstood us."
The girl nodded and slowly walked away, after being a safe distance, she hurried inside the kitchen. Another worker appeared and gave Diluc a glare.
"I think you scared her." Zhongli let out a small laugh, but he too was startled by Diluc's sudden harshness.
Diluc gave Zhongli a frown. "What's so funny?"
