The secret of Winter Gloom

Chapter 3: Birthday

* I'm at the beach again, but it's empty, I look over to the ocean and right in front of me Damion forms out of pure water. "What the hell?!?" I exclaim.
"Winter, don't be scared I came to give you information." He said in a stern voice.
"And what would that be?!?" I exclaim.
"It's your 16th birthday, you are of the age you will get the calling."
"The calling?!? Calling for what?!?" I exclaim suddenly, before my eyes he dissolves into water.*

I rub my eyes, and slowly open them. "Huh?" I said to myself, 'must've been a dream' I thought. I drag myself out of bed and head toward my bathroom. I look in the mirror. 'For the love of God.' I thought wide eyed. My hair was messy as hell, if this is sweet than I don't want to be 16. I brush out my hair, and draped it over my left shoulder. I walk down the stairs and still groggy, make myself a cup of coffee, I turn around and both, my mother and my sister were six inches from my face, I dropped my mug and screamed glass shattered everywhere.
"WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?" I screamed. "You never... EVER sneak up on me." I said in a stern voice. Then they start to sing happy birthday. I hit my forehead with my palm, and walk away.
"Are you going to clean that up?" My little sister asked. I turned around and my mother shuffled herself over.
"You are doing nothing of the sort. It's your birthday go to your room or do what ever you want." She said pushing me toward the staircase. I stuck out my tung to Maya.
"BUT MOOOOOOMMMMM SHE STUCK HER TONGUE OUT AT ME!!!" My little sister whined/yelled. About an hour later I was wearing my fancy no strap black lace dress with cowgirl boots, my hair was curled and I had light natural makeup on. I was ready to meet Olivia at The Grill. I go down stairs, and surprisingly, and kinda disappointed no one was home. I go to the porch grab my brown leather jacket and my 1967 Chevy Impala keys, and head out the door, my beautiful Chevy Impala is waiting for me.

At The Grill I walk in and everyone jumps up and yells..
"SURPRISE!!!!" I was wide eyed immediately I knew Olivia had set it up. I ran over to her and gave her a hug.
"Hello! I invited someone..." She said looking toward the right corner of the room. I look to were she is looking.
" Oh my god..." I said to myself it was Damion. I am very much still freaked out over the dream I had, i forgot about it until know. I went over and took his hand and dragged him out the back door.
"What are you doing?" He asked really calmly
'Sigh'. "I had a dream, and well you were in it, and it's just kinda freaking me out, and..." There was a pause I looked really deep into his face he made no expression. "Why am I even telling you this?" I said
"Because, you know deep down inside of you, that it wasn't a dream." At that moment he turned, and caught a glimpse of the moon. And as soon as he did he jumped off the bridge that was just outside the parking lot. 'OH MY GOD' and suddenly I found my self jumping off the bridge also, I don't know why, I guess I thought I could save him. My feet touch the water then I'm completely submerged in it. I look around and see darkness, and here and there a glint of some scales. I try to swim up to the top but something is holding me down, I look down nothing is there, I swim faster and faster, suddenly I start to sink Further. I feel my feet hit the bottom of the ocean floor, I'm now wondering how I can hold my breath this long. My feet start to go numb, they almost feel like gel, then I can't feel them anymore. 'OMYGOD DID I BREAK THEM OR, OR DID A SHARK EAT THEM!' I thought. Suddenly I seen Damion's head, he stood in front of me smiling, I look down at him were his feet should be is a long black tail. And when I notice he's looking down at me, I see a large purple tail instead of my feet. 'Holy crap.'
