I wake up, hoping it's all a bad, bad dream. But I wake up in wet clothes. Not a dream. I look around, and see Damion in the corner of my room.
"What. Happened." I asked
"You, are becoming your true self."
"A MERMAID?!?!?" I scream, then covering my mouth realizing my mom is downstairs sleeping.
"No. A Nereid." He said. He is very helpful.
"What?!? What's a Nereiwd." I said mispronouncing it.
"Nereid. In Greek mythology, the Nereids are sea nymphs, female spirits of sea waters, the fifty daughters of Nereus and Doris, sisters to Nerites. They were distinct from the Sirens. They often accompany Poseidon, the god of the sea, and can be friendly and helpful to sailors fighting Perilous Storms. According to Wikipedia." He said laughing.
"Umm, any real history." I asked giving him the 'I am totally not trying to be funny ' look.
"Most of it is true, but they are not sea nymphs, there much like sirens just not as evil, they have tails, and most are ugly vile looking things, but there are some with beauty, for it is said that beauty is only skin deep." He said admiring me.
"Wow. Then what are Sirens??"
"Sirens, are somewhat beautiful mermaids... That like the fact they have the voices to kill." That's all he said.
