In the Southern gate Lester and one of the Edas were met with a group of armed hunters stationed at the gates. It was hard to tell where they had hidden the actual guards but they hoped that they could get to the city square before the others arrived at their respective destinations.

Lester took charge and walked casually towards the guards. He had drawn sigils right under his paw and all Eda had to do was wait.

One of the hunters did look at Lester and raised a sword to strike him. Luckily one of the other hunters stopped him.

"What are you doing?" the hunter asked.

"It's a black cat. We have orders to kill any black cat on sight."

"I hope you realise how stupid that sounds." The hunter crouched and pet Lester on the head.

It was against his character. Eda even wondered how Lester was able to persevere for as long as he did. He went inside the gate and a sudden pull took Eda quickly through the ground and out on the other side of the wall.

"I'll never get used to that," Eda whispered. They were inside an abandoned metal smith shop.

"Are the others in place?" Lester asked.

"Not yet, but everyone is already inside."

"Let's just hope we won't have to fight," Lester said looking at the sword. "That has aether, doesn't it?"

Eda tapped the sword and it glowed a subtle blue.

"Let's keep moving," Lester said and he walked towards a door that led to a dark room. Eda followed and a sigil underneath her glowed red. She was then rushing through abrasive dirt at high speed before emerging at what looked like prison dungeons.

"You will just have to get used to teleporting," Lester joked.

"Are we at the city centre?" Eda asked.

"We are in the dungeons below. Rhys was held here once and I left my own mark."

"Then why couldn't we just teleport immediately here?"

"The longer the distance the more aether used. Who knows how long this night will end up being."

They walked passed a couple of empty prison cells and up a flight of stairs to a more lit corridor of more prison cells.

"There's nothing here," Lester said, his voice more audible. The corridors were empty and so were the cells. A number of torches were lit but the dust and cobwebs were proof enough. Not even a single guard or hunter was within the entire dungeon.

"They must be in the others," Eda said.

"But let's not rule out the fact that they could all be dead," Lester said.

Eda did not want to think of such. There was no massive burial site and Lecor would have told her if Harren had killed the previous government.

Rhys felt like he was given the hardest task of all. He was to infiltrate the citadel and find the High Watcher and steal the stones. Furthermore he was to save the Watchers from the hunters. And worse, he could not use the shadow, Apparently Lester ran out of Tenebrian Obia ash. All Rhys now could do was use wind and stealth.

He had used wind to get to the top of the buildings at least out of range from the hunters below. From one building to the next he glided, quickly jumping and propelling himself to the next roof. Soon he was close to the citadel and it was indeed under siege. There must have been hundreds of hunters surrounding the Watcher's headquarters.
