"She's quite feisty today. Did the bread not sustain her?" Rhys walked from the corner he had sat towards the cell bars where Lester stood.
"You were supposed to go with them," Lester's voice was so low that it was barely heard.
"What?" Rhys said.
"I sent a letter to Al. The three of you were to be set free and I would stand for the charges."
"Wait you sent a letter? When and how? Does this mean you can turn human?"
Lester peered through the bars to see if anyone was around and turned back to Rhys.
"The Watcher Eli, he helped me write," Lester whispered, "Whatever Al received must have been different."
"That Eli did not look the brightest, did he?"
"Bright or not, we could be playing into Harren's bidding," Lester said.
Rhys began shaking his head as he drew away from Lester.
"Those things will kill us. One was trouble enough, what would getting six mean,"
"Getting all six would see us stop all Harren has planned. He needs us to get them so we still have the upper hand."
"What do you suggest?" Rhys asked.
"We steal the stones,"
"I don't know if you may have realised but we are in an anti-magic cell. You know, the kind that renders us powerless unable to use magic and get out," Rhys started.
Lester stayed silent as he looked forward at the bars in front of them. He then looked at his body and back at the cell doors.
"All I need is time,"
"Okay. For what exactly?"
"They may not know it but, I helped build this cell. Ironically, I ended up inside a few months later. The cell is just one big sigil engraved deep within the very bricks used to build it."
"Do you want us to dig?" Rhys looked at Lester surprised from the thought of digging through the walls.
"Every Watcher these days carries a small vial in their robes. I need you to get me two,"
Rhys nodded but with a blank face. "Ok, ok. How am I to steal from them exactly. I can't use the shadow in here,"
"Come on. I saw you pickpocket a couple of hunters back in Terra and those betas. And let's not forget, the Watchers in Old-Port,"
"And for good reasons as well," Rhys said smiling, feeling accomplished of what he had done.
"When all this is done, we should go back to Oldport," Rhys then said sliding on to the stone elevation by the wall.
Loud steps echoed from the citadel halls. They were an all-familiar sound and they knew who it was.
"Be annoying," Lester told Rhys who nodded with a smirk.
The huge frame of the scarred hunter stopped at the front of the cell, glaring at the captives inside. Harren had a smug smile and his eyes looked delighted than ever before.
"Look at what we have here," Harren smiled at Lester holding a piece of parchment in his right hand. "Thought you could bypass the right authorities?"
"I hope you don't mean you," Rhys said coolly his arms crossed at back leaning on the wall.
"Be quiet boy, grownups are speaking," Harren blurted.
"We were, before you interrupted," Rhys continued and wore an even bigger grin.
