Groaning, Emma lifted her head from what felt like the most soft and heavenly pillow imaginable. "Yep. Pain. That's what I'm feeling today." She made to collapse back on her pillow, but her head hit the mattress instead.

"Not funny, Mimi," Emma moaned, turning over to see her pillow on the other end of the bed next to her Espurr. "Ugh, fine, I'm getting up."

After dressing and moving downstairs into the bureau, she helped herself to a cup of coffee, which helped awaken her fully. Sitting herself in her comfy oak chair, she grabbed a remote from a drawer and turned on the flat screen TV laying against the wall off to her left. She hadn't found time nor an idea where she might hang it up, so for now she left it laying there. Switching it on, it was already on the News.

"The latest news on the robbery that occurred on Vernal Avenue last night has just come in," the News anchor spoke. Not your typical blonde anchor, as she was short with brunette hair and horn-rimmed glasses. Images of the wild Pokemon Emma had fought last night came onto the screen as well as the guys dressed in black and their Pangoro. "It appears they used these Pokemon as a distraction to rob Vernal Bank. Two of the men were apprehended by police after having been found unconscious on a nearby rooftop. This appears to have been the work of a vigilante known as Essentia."

A picture of Emma in her Essentia suit popped up onto the screen. It was blurry and it seemed to have been taken while she was fighting off the Pokemon. "What appear to have been Pokemon gone rabid were efficiently taken down with this Essentia before the Lumiose Police arrived on the scene. However, according to Officer Jenny, this is no hero, but a dangerous vigilante that once kidnapped people for the Cult that terrorized our city not long ago. What are her motives for fighting these Pokemon and bringing these criminals to justice? More on that-"

"Well, at least they're not gung-ho about me being a villain," Emma said to Mimi as she shut off the news. She rubbed the top of her Pokemon's head as she sat next to the paperwork on the desk. "That's something." Suddenly she frowned, pausing mid-pet. She glanced back at the TV's black screen. "Hold on." She switched it back on, but there was only an ad playing about new customization items for Premier Balls. She hurriedly flicked through the channels before finally finding one talking about last night's event. She watched as it showed pictured of the rabid Pokemon.

"That's strange," she said. When she had encountered them in-person, they had a strange purple haze surrounding them as well as glowing violet eyes. "The pictures don't have them," she realized aloud. "And no one's talking about them..." She looked at Mimi. "Did I imagine it?"

"Purr?" Mimi tilted her head.

"Did you not see it either?" Emma rubbed the Pyschic type's head before getting up and turning the TV off for the second time. "Ah well, I'll wonder about it later. It's time to open up shop." She walked over and pulled up the blinds on the left side of the door, letting in bright sunlight through the window. She got a view of the outside street where she saw the usual elderly couple walking their Furfrou. They saw her through the window and gave little waves as they walked by. Emma smiled and waved back before moving onto the next window and pulling up the blinds. The bureau was now flooded with natural light, it's warmth addicting. Once flipping the sign to read "Open" to the public, she scooped up the letters that had been pushed in through the slit on one of the doors.

She went back to her desk and scooted her chair closer to the desk as she checked the letters. Secretly she was hoping that Looker had contacted her, but she was left disappointed. He had promised to check up on her, but he hadn't for a while.

"He's probably busy with work," Emma told Mimi cheerfully as she scanned through the letters again. There were only three, one being a notice that construction might become a bother on this street soon. The last two appeared to be brochures on therapy for those who had trauma from what happened during the Great Disasters.
