Marinette's P.O.V
I can feel the blush growing on my cheeks as Adrien pulls in to kiss me. I think, 'Now we can finally get married and have three kids and a cat, no a hamster! I love hamsters!'
When I noticed Alya out the corner of my eye looking extremely unhappy. Unhappy like, the -time -she -whacked -Nino -across -the -head -for -forgetting- the- popcorn unhappy. She yells, "Marinette! You're gonna be late! Wake up!". Cue me wondering why Alya's voice sounds like Tikki's. "Alya, I'm already here. Why would I be late for something?". The room starts to warp and I fall into a black hole of darkness.
My eyes fly open just as Tikki yells, " Mari! Wake up!".
"Tikki" , I exclaim, " I just had the most wonderful dream! I was abotu to kiss Adrien! Do you believe that? He's so handsome and smart and kind and-" I was about to go on rattling some more amazing things about Adrien, but Tikki interrupted with a, " While that may be true, you're going to be late! Besides, aren't the Japan exchange students coming today? You needa make a first impression on them, girl, but that ain't gonna happen if you're late!"
I sigh in defeat. I can rant about Adrien later, besides, I have about 30 minutes before school starts. I better dress to impress. "You're right, Tikki. I need to get ready," I say, while staring longingly at the photo on my windowsill. Hopefully, one of the students has information on Izuku. Oh! Did I intoduce Izuku? He's my cousin, older than me by 3 months (Yeah, I know it isn't exactly their age difference but this was written by a person awake at 12 a.m. at night, so please don't throw tomatoes!).
Izuku and I haven't been in contact for years, ever since Auntie Inko and Maman had their big fight. It was five years ago, when Izu was visiting for Christmas. I don't really remember much about it, except by the end both women were in tears and the next day Izuku went back to Japan. We kept in touch through our phones, but soon our contact seemed to minimize until it wasn't there at all. We might as well have been complete strangers. I never forgot about him, of course. But I wonder if he remembers me. The girl with the purple flames isn't someone to remember, anyways.
I got ready as I took a shower and threw on a pretty pink dress I'd made myself, and I put on a hat since it was going to be hot and wore some black leggings. I wore the same purse, backpack, and shoes of course, just that this once I let my blueberry hair flow down to my shoulders, instead of my signature pigtails. "You look so pretty, Marinette! Adrien's gonna drop dead at the sight of you! But you better get going. You know that the class can't find their way out of a paper bag without their 'Mom'," Tikki snickers.
I groan as Tikki continues laughing, and say," Not you too! I just happen to be the most mature one in class and the class representative! Alya can handle stuff without me since she's my deputy, right?!". That's when Tikki brings something to my attention: " Marinette, Alya's probably gonna go crazy over the new students. And you know how she is when she's in reporter mode".
Well, that is just fantastic. I've got about 10 minutes before school starts, so I run to class, and get everyone organized. I yell goodbye to my Maman and Dad, and the I'm on my way! Since I'm the class representative, it's my thing to boost morale and give advice. The best part is I can roast people I don't like and they don't even realize it. Today's a special day, so all the more to make sure they don't cause any trouble. This is what I told them:
" Chloe, sweetie, no trash talking or I'll take away your free friend priveliges for a week. And your dress is almost ready, so you don't wanna do that"
"Lila if you lie about someone one more time I swear to god I will not hesitate to tell Mrs. Bustier, and then yeet you to the sun afterwards"
(For those people who are worried about Mineta. Don't worry. I got him expelled in this book, so he ain't gone be here. I might have also yeeted him to the sun afterwards but you have no proof. You're welcome. It was my pleasure to bring pain to the little piece of garbage).
And then there are my friends.
" Juleka, remember, you're awesome! Go and talk to new people! If you don't want to, there is no need, but go for it, girl!"
"Alya, don't go overboard with the questions, alright? They need to breathe too! They're here on a break!"
And every single time I gave a piece of advice, the answer was always something like:
" Sure will, Mom!"
"Jeez, Mom, don't be so worried"
" I promise to be a good girl all week, Mom!"This started when I started offering counseling sessions. Of course, my duty as Ladybug got in the way sometimes, but we always rescheduled and I heard their problems out and helped them feel better. Kim had noticed that I was doing everything a Mom was and the class agreed, hence the nickname, 'Mom'. Heck, even Adrien came to me one time, saying " Since you're my mom, can you tell Dad to give me more free time? Pretty please?". Of course I couldn't say no to those puppy eyes ( or were they kitten eyes?), so I went and talked to his dad. Surprisingly, he agreed. And now everyone calls me 'Mom'.
They're a bunch of chaotic highschool students, but they're still my friends. This day is getting off to a great start.
