I don't know what happened. I don't know what would've happen. If I'd stayed. If I'd ran. I don't know what happens anymore.

Everything went down so fast. One month ago, I was stressing about my GCSE's and now here I am, surviving an apocalypse.

It all started with a wildfire. Just like before. But everyone thought it was just a fire. Who would believe the history repeats itself anyway? It was just a fire.

"It's not going to happen again, Max."

My mom and I watched the news every day, her mind to the wildfire in Australia, mine filled of "What's next?".

What's next?

What's next?

As I was packing for school, I hear the TV yelling from the living room.

"Millions of deaths caused by a new virus found in New Zeeland. The new virus, also named B890, is gett..."

That's all I needed to hear. I knew what was coming- or at least I think.

"Max! Come down stairs! Breakfast's ready!" my mom shouts from somewhere near me. I flinch. She starts laughing.

"It's not funny"

" Let me guess...You're scared it's going to happen again, aren't you?"

"I guess"

Don't overthink. She used to tell me. But what can I do now? I have to overthink at every step.
