DORIAN LOVEGOOD COULDN'T REMEMBER A TIME WHEN HE WASN'T THE QUIETEST IN THE ROOM. The boy had always been seen as quiet and peculiar from when he was a child. Though Dorian had always been shy, He became more quiet after his mother died. His mother died right in front of him and his younger sister Luna when he was 11, during a freak accident when she was experimenting. Dorian still had a scar on his lip from the accident, but it couldn't compare to the invisible scars that were left on him. Dorian was a lot like his mother and was very close with her. He hadn't been the same ever since her death. The poor boy didn't speak for two weeks after her death. It was just him, his father and his little sister after that. Dorian vowed to himself he'd protect his family no matter what, as he couldn't let it happen again.
As Dorian grew older, he remained the same. He was known for his enchanting beauty and his eccentric and recluse ways. He was a straight A student and one of the best players on the Ravenclaw qudditch team. He got the nickname "wallflower" by a few people, including the ones he got along with, in his third year. He was told it meant an introvert such as himself, who isn't really unpopular but activly distances themselves from the crowd. Dorian could tell no one called him that in an insulting way and just accepted the nickname and even embarced it. It was better than the other nicknames he earnt like 'looney' or weirdo and other things of the sort.
Cedric Diggory on the other hand was nicknamed Hogwarts' 'golden boy'. With his charming personality, his heavenly beauty and selfless personality, it was no surprise he earned that name. Dorian had admired Cedric from afar in the first few weeks of his first year but couldn't bring himself talk to him until Cedric stood up for him when a group of kids in their year started on him. And from there, they became inseperable.
Cedric was like Dorian's opposite in a few ways. Both were known for being good looking but one was popular, the other was on the verge of being an outcast. However, this didn't stop the two from being like brothers from the moment they met in their first year. Cedric had stuck up for Dorian a lot and helped him out when he needed it. He was there when his mother died and didn't leave his side for that entire term making sure Dorian was alright. Dorian had always appreciated Cedric for that.
The pair only got closer as the years went on. It didn't look like anything was to change, though that was until the tri wizard tournement was anounced. A series of dangerous challanges that three wizarding schools across Euroupe competed in. Three students from each school would compete in these challanges, every few years. Of course this year Hogwarts was hosting it. Dorian didn't show too much interest but Cedric insisted for him to do it along with him, so of course he did. When Cedric Diggory is chosen as the Hogwarts Champion, along with Harry Potter, It was something to be celebrated.
Though as the tournement continues, Dorian and Cedric knew that their friendship will never be the same after this.
