Chapter 3

20 1 1

Hi guys, sorry it took me so long, I've written it a total of 3 times now, but everytime I went to publish it, it has gotten deleted. Aside from that I also damaged 4 of my knuckles by hitting them off of the ceiling... twice, and I accidentally cut off half of my nail... so it's been a long month... anyways I hope you enjoy!

Nova's POV

Darkness.

That's the first thing I see.

Or don't see.

It's so welcoming, so mysterious, so secretive.

I'm used to living in the dark.

The darkness is my home, it's my safe haven, the one place where I feel welcome and accepted.

Where I am not constantly pressured or pushed away.

You don't have to worry about what people think of you, you barely have to think about anything at all.

In here everything is nothing but a figment of your imagination, for better or for worse.

Here, you get to choose who you interact with, and who you can push off the face of the earth, nothing is stopping you.

The only thing that can stop you here is the light, the light that forces you back into the real world.

The light is the real devil in disguise~

I try to force my eyes open.

Too heavy, my whole body feels way to heavy, my arms are numb, my leg feels like it has been coated in fire.

I try again to open my eyes.

Nothing.

Ugh.

I listen, a soft steady beep echoes through the room, that smells bitterly of rubbing alcohal and hypochlorite.

Soft murmers also echo there way into my room, and once again I can do nothing but listen.

"Doc It's been 3 days, are you sure she's going to be ok?" A breathy voice asks.

Callum?

"She'll be fine I'm sure of it, give her body and mind some time to rest, she's been through hell in the last few days, just give her some time to recover," The "Doctor" Answers confidently.

"It's just..." He sighs, "Doc you should have seen it, she looked terrible when I got there... I mean she was practically bathing in her own blood... and she was too pale, she's still too pale," He answers, sounding seemingly frustrated.

Heavy footsteps echo through the corridor, and I recognise them before he even makes a sound.

Captain Chronium, right on time as always.

"Any updates Doctor Wright?" He asks in a honeyed voice.

"Not yet, still in the same state, and in the same coma she was in last night, the only difference is that threre has been increasing is her heart rate, which I am taking as a good sign," Doctor...Wright answers.

Ah great...

"Poor girl... Callum have you been able to get in touch with her uncle yet," He asks sounding somewhat serious.

"Not yet, I've tried everything I could with the information she has presented to us, I've tried calling him multiple times, email, heck I've even tried going to her house but there's just nothing, empty, sort of like he doesn't exist," Callum responds.

He exists, but he isn't who you think or want him to be.

"Oh well, we've done everything we could, her recovery and family problems are all up to her now," Captain Chronium says in a voice that I find heavily grating.

Oh wait that's just his usual voice.

"Let's just hope she recovers soon, Adrian, and the rest of her team have been refusing to leave the waiting room since she came here, they feel pretty bad about it too." The Captain sighs sounding seemingly exhausted.

That's the last sentance I hear before I start to feel a migraine coming on.

And without further warning it all goes dark again, as I drift back into my world of imagination and bliss.

Sorry it's so short y'all.

*Not edited*

Also I have been thinking and I may be taking down the classified mission soon, I just feel like I have made quite a bit of improvements and I kind of cringed a lot while trying to edit it, though if you guys want I can keep it up there and just write an optional to read edited version.
