I really like how in a lot of books there a tomboys who like to play football with the boys instead of the girls in an attempt to support liking whatever you want.
But also I've read a bunch of books where the tomboy doesn't like some sports because it's "girly".
Now I know that this is because they are trying to make her "different" but the likes and choices of "girly" girls need to be respected too.
