There were very few things that could unite the powers of Gotham, very few that had the trust and respect of each power. Falcone, Fish Mooney, Maroni, the GCPD and the Waynes. The groups did not have faith in the same place, except for one. A young singer and musician, a nameless girl with purple hair. She never had a stage name, but the people had given her one. 'the Darling of Gotham City' which resulted in people simply calling her 'Darling'.

It was a normal day in Gotham city. At least, it would have been, but the city had been hit with a terrible tragedy. Thomas and Martha Wayne were killed.

The investigation of the murder led Detectives Harvey Bullock and Jim Gordon to Fish Mooneys. Fish was sat at the bar in her own club watching the purple haired girl set up instruments and microphones on the stage, a slight whining coming through the speakers when a chord was plugged in.

"Fish"

Harvey called endearingly, holding out his hands and giving her a kiss.

"Darling"

He called to the girl on the stage who offered a wave in response, not taking her eyes off of the mic stand she was setting up. She seemed to catch the attention of the rookie detective who was looking at her with a sense of interest.

While Fish and Harvey spoke, the sound of crying and yelping echoed though the back door, the only thing making Darling look up from what she was doing. She only shook her head and rolled her eyes, giving the music stand a final twist to tighten it. That was when she noticed that the other detective that she didn't know had disappeared, and the yelping sounds stopped. He came back in and the sounds started again.

Darling was pretty much fed up at that point. She hopped off of the stage and walked over to the back, stepping through the door and seeing Fish's umbrella carrier Oswald beating the man on the ground.

"Excuse me. Would you mind keeping it down. I'm trying to set up my equipment"

The group of men stopped what they were doing and looked at the girl, Oswald looking down and Butch smiling at her.

"Sorry ma'am, we'll be more quiet."

He tipped his head at her as she disappeared back into the building. The large man leaned down and shoved a piece of fabric into the beaten mans mouth, allowing Oswald to continue to beat him. It was considerably more quiet now.
