Will you. . ?

Y/n's POV

It was the middle of July, Pony's birthday was on the 22nd. We were all planning on going to the lake. Soda had just moved in with me. My only real friends were the gang. I had friends that worked with me at the Dingo, but they only liked Soda for his looks. When the day finally came to go to the lake, I put on a two-piece black bikini. I threw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. 

"Soda! Let's go, we're going to be late." 

"Coming! Just let me finish up!

Soda's POV

I talked to Ponyboy, he said I could propose at the lake. It was his birthday, but he knew I had been waiting for a long time. I put the ring in the smallest pocket of the bag. {Y/n} was already in the car waiting. 

"I'm comin' calm down!" I locked the door behind me and ran to the car. I started the car up and drove to the lake. 

"Babe, did you pack my book?" 

"Ya, it should be in the biggest pocket." She grabbed the bag from the back seat and took out her book. She laid her head in my lap. We pulled into the parking lot for the lake. 

Y/n's POV

"I'm sooooOOooo excited!! I can't wait to see Ponyboy!" I grabbed Soda's hand and dragged him to where Darry said to meet.

"PONYBOY!" I tackled him to the ground. "How does it feel to be 17, you loser?"

"It would be better if you got off of me." I got up off of him. 

"Soda, can we go swim now?" I tugged on his hand. 

"Sure, anything for you princess." I took off my t-shirt and jeans, putting them in the bag. Dallas whistled at me. 

"Don't you have Cherry? Why do you always have to hit on me?" 

"It's fun, man. That's why." I watched Soda lay down next to Steve. 

"Soda, what are you doing? You said we could swim." 

"I'm going to get a tan with Steve. Gotta problem?" 

"Yes, later when you're all burnt don't come crying to me. Actually, that's a lie, come cry to me because I'll feel bad." 

"Whatever, I'll come in soon." There was a little dock. I watched Ponyboy jump off the end. I ran and jumped in after him. Before I knew it Darry was calling us to eat. 

"Soda, can I have a towel?" 

"Ya, just close your eyes." 

Soda's POV

I grabbed her a towel and the ring box. Everyone sat there quietly. I got on one knee. 

"Ok, open!" When she opened her eyes she was in shock. 

"{Y/n}, ever since I laid eyes on you, I couldn't imagine you not being in my life. You've made me feel something I've never felt with any girl, you make me a better person, you make me happy, and I can't imagine my life without you. You're an amazing person, an amazing girlfriend, and I want to spend every minute of every day with you. {Y/n}, Will you make e the happiest man alive, and marry me?" We were both crying now. 

"Yes, I will!" I stood up and put the ring on her finger. I hugged her and spun her around. We sat down to eat. I grabbed the sandwich Darry made for me. {Y/n} grabbed hers. 

"Soda, can we go in the water when we are done?" 

Sure, I love you {Y/n}." 

Y/n's POV 

"I love you too buddy." I watched Dal get up and go over to the dock. 

"What's wrong with him?" 

"I think Cherry broke up with him. Cherry was telling me about it on the last day of school." I stood up and walked over to Dally. 

"Who shit in your cereal today?" 

"Don't {Y/n}, I'll drown you if you don't back off." 

"Sorry, didn't know you were having a bad day." I walked away. 

I went over. Soda was 'tanning' with Steve. He was laying down on his stomach. I went and laid on top of him. I was laying on my stomach too. 

"Hi, how's it going." I kissed his neck. 

"Good now that you're here." 

"Can we swim now? Please, you and Steve are the only ones now swimming." 

"Fine, come on Steve." I got off of Soda and helped him up. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. He ran off the end of the dock and jumped in. 

When I looked at him his shoulders were all red. 

"I told you, look at your shoulders they are all red. You poor baby." 

"I should have listened to you, sorry princess." 

"Can we stop at the store on our way home? I need to get a few things."  

"Sure, I need to get something too."  I got out and grabbed a towel when it was time for cake. 

I sat down next to Soda and we all sung Happy birthday. Darry handed me a piece of cake. I stuck my finger in the frosting and put it on Soda's nose. He did it back to me. I wiped off the frosting after Darry yelled at us. I pulled my shorts and shirt from the bag and gave Soda his shirt. Steve ended up coming home with us because Evie's house, his girlfriend, was on the way to our house. I made him sit in the back seat. I kept staring at the ring. It was so pretty. Soda knew I liked small simple things. When we go to Evie's house, the sun was going down. I ended up falling asleep. 

When we were home Soda picked me up and brought me inside. I woke up to get my pajamas on then passed out. 

When I woke up Ponyboy was standing over me. I fell off the bed. 

"Come on {Y/n}, get up we have to start planning." 

"Fine, let me get ready though. Sorry, YOU made me fall off the bed." 

"Whatever, just hurry!"
