the casket

i drew nearer to your casket
the death bed in which you were sleeping

your skin was cold and pale
ghost white even

there were doritos there too,
your favorite snack

you had your mountain dew
and your favorite book

"The Fault In Our Stars"
you became one of them

you were in your favorite dress
you wear it as you rest

you died without knowing true love
but you were loved

and you left a little sparkle wherever you went

your sparkle still lingers in our school
i can see every now and again

but god, your casket was almost as pretty as you
it was snow white, with countless flowers surrounding it

that small white casket holds the biggest heart
and the sweetest girl

it's not fair,
the casket gets to hold you
the ground gets to blanket you
and god gets to hear you sing

all we have is pictures
and my god, i miss you Clo

seeing you in that casket made me break
not because you were there, dead

but because you were in it,
so beautiful,
so peaceful,
and so, so lifeless

atleast that casket keeps you safe.
