A week had passed since Ren had joined the two adventurers and it wasn't like she had imagined it would be. She had to admit, when Aaron had said adventure, she had imagined fights, mystery and extreme danger on a daily basis. The only danger she had faced so far this week was a sneaky root that had made her fall face-first, making Aaron laugh so hard that he fell onto Chris, resulting in the three of them on top of each other, laughing.

They were trying to follow The Witch's tracks -she later found out that her name was Endelyn Rosewarne- which according to Chris was visible. Apparently, tracking required the same type of magic, so Aaron was also a good tracker. It exhausted him though, using his abilities to search for The Witch all day, every day, he could never keep watch. That was hers and Chris' job.

Nevertheless, they couldn't catch up to her, making Chris grow angrier with their daily failures. They were stopping at supermarkets a lot for supplies, buying lots of quick meals and water to cook them in the fire. She was worried about their money shortage but neither Aaron nor Chris looked concerned when she asked them about it. They also never let her come. They must've been stealing them. That should have made Ren disgusted, but surprisingly she wasn't. She was not going to lecture them about it, not when this food kept them alive.

The days went by, filled with jokes and stories about their old lives and soon enough Ren felt like home. Chris had taught her some basic self-defense moves and Aaron had helped her master the fine art of knife throwing. Every afternoon Ren and Chris would fight each other, sometimes with Aaron supervising them or joining them and giving them powers. Chris had super strength and Ren had super speed.

Everything was fine...until the double incident. The day had started like every other one so far. Ren had woken up, gone for a small jog around their camp to wake up properly -she had even collected some berries from nearby bushes- and started to prepare breakfast.

Her stomach had hurt a lot, but she hadn't given it any thought. She simply thought that she was just super hungry. During breakfast she had felt weird, like something was dripping somewhere, making her feel uncomfortable.

Without being able to get the sensation out of her head, she had gone to check if everything was alright. When she had removed her undergarments, she had found a concerning amount of blood covering everything. She realized with embarrassment that she had gotten her first period. Dread filled her when she also realized that she had nothing to put. No pads or tampons. No tissues to get rid of the blood. Hyperventilating, she started crying, trying to get rid of the blood before anyone else could see her and putting her pants on.

In the meantime, Aaron was getting worried by Ren's sudden disappearance and upon hearing her muffled sobs, he quickly got up and started searching the woods, leaving Chris snoring in their tent. He had found Ren crying her eyes out.

Without a word, he sat down beside her, hugging her tight,

"What's wrong, Ren? Did something happen?" he asked, with worry evident in his eyes.

Hyperventilating again, she answered "I got my period, A. I don't know what to do, we've got nothing here and there's so much blood, I can't-" in-between sobs, until Aaron had interrupted her.

"Shh, calm down R, I've got you. I'm the best problem solver out there, aren't I?" he said with a goofy smile, covering his lack of knowledge so as not to freak her out. She had laughed, agreeing with him and then promised to wait there while he would try to find the best solution possible for the girl.

When he was far enough from her ear-shot, he yelled Chris' name to wake him up. The conversation had gone somewhat like this:

"Chris! We've got a situation!"
