“And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allaah without knowledge, and takes it (the path of Allaah, or the Verses of the Qur’aan) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire)”

[Luqmaan 31:6]

The hall was large, large enough to accommodate half a thousand people. It was dark, with only a disco ball emitting coloured lights in different directions, casting its rays on the walls of the building and alongside the blasting music that filled the air, the atmosphere gave the visitors that vibe to go crazy on the dance floor.

Suddenly ,the music and disco lights went off and the hall was left in complete darkness. A minute's silence followed and then the lights were directed towards the entrance. The door opened revealing a man, dressed in a black shirt neatly tucked in black pants with a red tie. Beside him, was a lady elegantly dressed in a red flowing gown paired with black stiletto shoes and a black turban that covered her hair. As they walked graciously into the hall, the audience applauded their entrance. They made a perfect couple, they were one, deeply in love.

With her slim hands held in his, they walked up to the stage and once they were there, the disco lights went off and the hall became fully illuminated. Another round of applause came after the audience took in the features of the couple. They just realized that the disco lights concealed the beauty of the couple; they looked breath taking.

A man dressed in a grey chambray shirt paired with a black chino trouser walked up the stage holding a microphone in his hand. He wore a bright smile as he moved his gaze from the couple to the audience.

“Ladies and gentlemen...” And there was another round of applause.

“Indeed, today is a very special day for Mr and Mrs Hamid Sulaiman Dikko. We have been celebrating this day for the past three years since he found the love of his life...” He paused to look at the couple and Hamid kissed his wife's knuckles, earning him another applause from the audience.

“... That was just to make me feel bad you know but it's cool, I'm getting hitched soon" He said more like a whisper and a part of the audience chuckled.

“So today is his birthday, it's her birthday and it's their wedding anniversaryyyyyyy!” He said and the shouts of ‘whooooaaaa' filled the air.

“Amazing! Now I'm gonna give the mic to the celebrants, they're gonna decide who'll speak first, and they'll tell us how it feels like to celebrate three special occasions on the same day” He said and gave the mic to Hamid.
Hamid held the mic with his right hand. He then moved his hand that held his wife from her hand to her shoulder, and staring at her lovingly, he called.

“Honey?”

“Yes darling?” She looked up at him.

“Kamal said he's getting hitched soon, did you know?”

“Uh-uh. I just got to hear it"

“Oh. I’m not sure it's true but you know, I already feel sorry for his wife to be”

“But why? Kamal is such a nice person”

“Really? You think so?” Hamid said glancing briefly at Kamal who was gently shaking his head and smiling over their little drama.
Just then, Kamal's phone rang. He reached for the phone in his pocket and seeing that the caller ID read ‘Dad’, he quickly stepped outside to receive it. He picked up on the last ring.

“Hello Dad”

“Kamal” came his father's voice.

“Yes Dad, are you missing me?”
