You know those times when you have a wonderful dream, but when you wake up, you couldn't remember it even if you tried? Yeah...this is not the case.

In my case, it's a memory, not a dream and I wish that I would forget it. Maybe then I can finally smile a real smile.

'She's the only one that made me truly smile,' I reminded myself as a single tear fell out of my teared filled eyes and rolled down my face. I quickly wiped it away and composed myself. 'I have to stay strong. I must fight this battle by myself.' I chanted over and over in my head.

After composing myself, I got dressed and did my makeup. I checked myself over in the mirror as I fixed my hair and ran downstairs to have breakfast.

Honestly, I don't see how girls just grab an apple to go. Like seriously, if you are going to have a fruit, have an orange. At least then, it would make sense, but an apple?

I popped two slices of toast into the toaster and grabbed the milk. After I poured the milk into the glass and grabbed the butter, I prepared myself for the toaster to pop.

"All around the cobbler's Bench the monkey chased the weasel. The monkey thought t'was all in fun, pop, goes the weasel," I started to sing the nursery rhyme. I was hoping that it would pop when I said pop, but as that-

The toast flew out of the toaster, making a popping noise, before landing sideways at the top. However, by that point, I had already jumped so high, a gymnastics coach would've been proud. I grabbed the toast, muttering 'Hot' over and over under my breath as I set the toast on the napkin. I grabbed the butter and lightly buttered them. Biting into the toast, I took off running to grab my shoes, almost falling from cutting the corner a little to sharply. Hoping on one foot as my other leg was already bruising, I grabbed my shoes from the shoe bin. Once I got back, I scarfed down the toast and put my shoes on quickly.

I ran upstairs to brush my teeth, almost forgetting to put on my lucky starfish necklace. This necklace was the only thing I had left of my family, before they all died; all different ways, all different times, all seen with my own eyes.

Once I got back downstairs, I grabbed my backpack and quickly ran out the door. I just hope I didn't miss the bus.

'You woke up to early again Minnie,' my wolf, Misty, groaned at me before yawning. I could tell she just woke up. I checked the time, not believing what she said was true, only to find out I, well we were an hour early. 'Being as this is the third time this week and it's only Wednesday, not to mention you do this almost everyday, you shouldn't have to look at the clock anymore to realize that I am right,' Misty told me.

'Getting a big ego, aren't you Misty?'

'Yeah well, as the only healer in this pack, I have to know my stuff,' Misty argued back. Werewolves have special abilities based on when you were born. It's like zodiac signs, except they grant you powers. I was born in March, the month of the healers. They say that healers are pretty rare, as in its very rare, almost impossible, for a pack to have more than one. Therefore, the one would usually be considered special unless they decide to hide their powers. As I am a healer, I feel the emotions of others deeply and can heal people, physically and mentally. However, healing people can be dangerous as I feel whatever they felt for a day.

I decided early on, that I would hide my powers from the pack unless needed. So nobody knows that I am a healer except for the pack Alpha, the doctors, and the elders. 'Do you think I have enough time to rest before the bus gets here?' Misty piped up.

'Nope,' I said as I checked my phone. 'The bus should be here any minute,' I looked around for the bus.

'You were so hoping the bus would have been pulling up right at that moment just as it would have done if this were some cliche movie, didn't you?' Misty teasingly joked.

'Yeah,' I smiled sheepishly.

'Well hate to break it to you, but this ain't some cliche movie,' she told me.

'It kind of is if you think about it though. I mean I've had a bad life, check. I have a mate, so basically I have my Prince Charming, check. I'll probably go through hardships, but in the end, I'll live happily ever after, check.'

'True, very true,' she laughed. 'I forgot about that.'

Just then, the bus rumbled up and honestly, it looked like it was chuckling at the thought that the driver actually wanted it to move. When it was close to where I was, it jolted to a stop and I waited for the doors to creak open. Like seriously, how old was this bus?

I hesitantly got on. It's not like I was afraid of some bullies, actually I, myself, don't get bullied. I'm usually just ignored, I just hate riding in this bus cause I feel like it's going to break down on one of the many hills we have and wreck.

Either way, I stepped on, making a loud creaking sound from one of the steps, before heading to the back.

The rest of the ride was boring and uneventful. Surprisingly, the bus ride was pen-dropping quiet. It must be because it's the first day or something because it's almost never this quiet. Like pretty much everyone else, I just stared out the window, day dreaming.

Once we got to the school, everyone rushed out like a herd of rhinoceroses was chasing after them. They all took off running through the grass to find their friends to walk to class together or to find their mates in which case they would give each other a kiss and then walk hand in hand to class.

I, on the other hand, took my time as I don't have any friends, let alone a mate to go to. 'I hope we find our mate soon Misty,' I told her before blocking out mind link so that I won't be distracted.

Once I stepped off the bus, I took a look at the front of the building before making my way to my first class.
