For the first time this week, I woke up with the sense of serenity and tranquillity. For once, I wasn’t woken up by my bad-mannered phone and its mind-numbing alarm. My body simply woke by itself, feeling completely satisfied with the amount of hours I slumbered for.
My body felt light and clean. So clean that I didn’t even bother washing my face, I simply just walked downstairs to find some food. Since it was Sunday, both my mum and dad didn’t have any work so I was pleasantly surprised to see my dad sitting on his favourite seat, watching the news with a mug of coffee on his hand. He soon spotted me and looked towards my direction. He seemed confused as to why I was still in my sleeping clothes but I just offered him a polite smile and walked towards the kitchen.
I felt the cold surface of the marble tiles send my spine into a shivering frenzy. I felt the hair on my arms stand on end and I soon felt uncomfortable. I ran back to the living room and quickly put on a pair of fluffy, bunny slippers. My dad was eyeing me anxiously, probably wondering why I ran out of the kitchen like I just spotted a ghost or something. I walked back to the kitchen and I soon felt the absence of the cold floor. I shuffled towards the fridge and opened it hastily. Fortunately, there was still some milk left. I quickly took out the milk from the side shelf of the fridge door and placed it on the kitchen counter. I closed the fridge and opened the cupboard to get a bowl and my favourite cereal, Cookie Crisps. I poured masses of the breakfast treat and poured milk onto it after. I got out a teaspoon from the drawer and began eating my breakfast.
I spent most of my morning eating and talking to my dad about the meeting until I recalled what Jordan sent me last night. I remembered that he wanted to meet me at pier today at around 12. I looked at the clock warily and soon realised that it was already 10:45. I jumped off the sofa and ran towards the stairs, shouting my farewell to my dad. I ran up the steps and into my room. I walked into my closet and quickly browsed through the many articles of outfits I had. I realised it was quite a sunny day so I got out a pair of high-waisted denim shorts, a large white tank top, a matching PINK bra and panties and a thin dip dye sweater. I quickly changed, the shorts comfortably hugged my butt, showing them off and my tank top perfectly complimenting my collarbones and my thin arms. I layered my tank top with a sweater, seeing as my bra showed rather easily through the thin, white clothing. The sweater hung carefully and I tucked the front bit into my denim short since it was a bit too low. The pink shade of sweater perfectly flattered my skin colour and like the tank top, it perfectly showed off my collarbones. I walked over to my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. After washing my face, I put on a thin layer of foundation, just to cover up some imperfections and a faint touch of lipstick so that my lips would pop out even more. I grabbed my brown, fringed cross body bag and hung it on my shoulder. I grabbed my phone, spare keys and my purse and stuffed them messily in my bag and with a snap of a finger, I dashed outside.

Fortunately, I didn’t live too far from the pier and as luck would have it, I remembered to put on anti-perspirant so after 30 minutes of walking and running, I was safe from sweaty armpits.
I realised that it was only 11:40 so I sauntered down the pier and smiled at how happy everyone looked. Children were busying themselves with the arcade and the rides and older folks were peacefully sat on deckchairs, overlooking the whole beach and just watching everyone be happy. I sat down on an empty deckchair and got my phone out. I was playing Angry Birds until I received a text. I was taken aback by the name that popped up on my phone. Zayn.
