Since my writing has improved since 2017 I have rewritten this book to the best of my abilities. I feel like I should mention that not everything in this chapter is the same as it was years ago as I legit rewrote the entire chapter. I will not be switching POV's like I did for the first book as it was a bit confusing and I find myself a better writer when writing in 3rd Person POV rather than 1st Person. I completely forgot who I had face casted as Adeline O'Connor so she is now played by Lola Flanery. You can check who plays who in the cast section! I don't want to keep you long as I know you've waited years for this comeback from the dead so here we go! I'm not going to include every OC character from the last book, just the ones I can keep track of. Anyways, I now introduce to you Safe and Sound: Secrets Untold.

Enoch looked around the room, his eyes trying their best to unsee the scene unraveling before him. Things had escalated to the point you can literally sense the panic in the room. "Miss Peregrine, what the hell is going on?" Enoch asked, his hand wrapping around Olive's. "Mr. O'Connor, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that," Miss Peregrine replied. "My wife almost died, again!" Enoch exclaimed. "Again?" Chloe asked, a confused look on her face. Shit. Their kids didn't know.

"Mommy, what does Daddy mean by again?" Chloe asked, looking at Olive. Olive looked around the room, from a baby Nick cooing from his now gold crib to Enoch's scrunched face as he began to think. "That is something you're too young to know," Olive told her as she crouched down to her height and gave her forehead a kiss. They needed answers. Answers that neither they nor Miss Peregrine knew the answers to. Answers such as, why Nick had the ability to turn his baby blue crib gold. Or why his peculiarity decided to reveal itself at such a young age. And if that was his peculiarity how did he inherit it when neither Jake nor Emma had different peculiarities than both their kids.

Enoch wanted, no, needed answers. Ever since he lost Olive, he couldn't bear to lose her again. Not her, not Chloe, and not Adeline. They were his everything and he needed to keep them safe. A part of him missed the ability to lock himself in his room and allow the other peculiars to deal with the problems that were being brought into their lives. But that wasn't who he was anymore. He was a husband and a father and his family needed him now more than ever. "Enoch..?" Olive called, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Can you go put the kids to bed?" Olive asked. "Yeah," Enoch replied, scooping up both Chloe and Adeline into his arms and leaving the room.

He had mood swings here and there. Times where he would lose his cool and snap at whoever was passing but Olive was always there to calm him down. "Daddy?" Adeline called. "Hmm?" Enoch asked, looking at her. "I'm scared," Adeline told him. Enoch set both girls down on the floor and crouched down in front of them. "Everything will be fine. Both of you are safe and Nick will be okay," Enoch told them. "Now, it's time to get some sleep," Enoch said as he tucked Adeline into bed and gave her a kiss on the forehead. He helped Chloe settle down before tucking her in and kissing her forehead as well. "Good night girls," Enoch told them, before walking out of the room and making his way down the hallway. He needed to speak to Olive the moment she was done speaking to Emma and Miss Peregrine.

"Miss Peregrine, what are we going to do with Nick?" Emma asked as she began to pace back and forth. Jake left to put his and Emma's kids to bed a few minutes after Enoch left to put Adeline and Chloe to bed. "Patience Mrs. Portman, I need to think," Miss Peregrine replied. Olive stood with her arms crossed as she stared off into space, lost in thought. They had enough problems on their hands ever since Adeline's kidnapping and they weren't entirely sure if there were more people like John Wardley out there, waiting for the right moment to take more peculiar children. "I have seen different peculiarities throughout time, but I don't think Nick has just one peculiarity," Miss Peregrine said.
