Promises to keep

Ch 1. The weeks go on

(Eren's pov)
"It's been weeks since we have seen the last titan anywhere near the walls!" Hanji exclaims. "I don't know weigher I should feel good or bad. I need to do more experiments!" Typical Hanji. "This is a great thing Hanji!" I yell louder than intended "their gone! We have won!" I say with pride. "I wouldn't say that quite yet brat." Levi says, walking into the room then leaning against the wall. his hair draping over his soft face.

"We just spotted a crawler 200 yards from the wall." "God damnit." I said under my breath. Out of the corner of my eye I see Caption Levi smile. I feel my face get hot.

"We'll have to keep a close eye out for the next week or so to see if that crawler had any friends." "In the meantime, Eren, go clean the halls." Levi ordered. "Y-yes captain." I say as I quickly leave the room.

"It's been a whole week since we saw that crawler." "Where could those bastards have gone?" Jean asks, particularly asking no one, knowing no one knows the answer. "Who knows?" Is the best thing I can say. It's true though. No one knows. They just, disappeared.

Weeks turned into months, the months seemed to pile on top of us like bricks. Just awaiting the day they come back. That feeling of impending doom while you eat you breakfast in the morning, not knowing what the day will bring.

The stressful days seem to never end so I love watching the captain clean when I have nothing else to do. I know it's weird but it's also calming. When I'm stressed I just watch him. He doesn't notice me (at least I don't think he does) I watch his swift hands polish the doors and wipe the windows. His soft grip on the broom as he sweeps. Gahhh what is wrong with my brain! He's just so, perfect.

(Levi's pov)
I see something rustle in the back of the room out of the corner of my eye. I pretend not to see when I realize its Eren again. He has been watching me for days now, It's starting to get creepy. So I just continue cleaning the filthy worthless building that keeps getting dirty again and again, God only knows how.

"*sigh* nothing can help this place." I mutter to myself.

After a good hour of cleaning every spot in this wretched room I start packing my cleaning supplies. Eren gets up and slowly sneaks to the door. I still pretend not to notice but just as he reaches the door he trips on a broom.

The loud noise of his body hitting the ground startled me making me jump. "What the hell are you doing here brat!" Is yell using my best acting skills to cover up the fact that I knew he was there the whole time. "Captain.... Um it's not what it looks like.. I was just... Um..." He stutters for a moment "I was just coming for this broom!" Eren says grabbing the broom that blew his cover.

Eren quickly walks out after that blushing. I smile and put my head in my hand. "What am I going to do with you Eren Jeager?"

I pick up the rest of my stuff and leave for the next room that needs to be cleansed from filth.
