Ch. 3 the truth outside the walls

(Eren's pov)
We just stand there, not saying a word until Erwin speaks up. "So this is where they went." Right in front of us for as far as we could see were dead bodies of Titans.

"What the hell happened here!" Jean yelled. No one answered him.

I felt a heavy pit in my stomach. There were so many of them! "Why are their bodies still here? Shouldn't they have rotted away by now!?" I ask and Levi answers "there must be something wrong with their bodies." He says. Then he pulls out a piece of cloth and ties it over his mouth. "Let's go check it out." We all look at each other for a moment and then follow Levi's lead

We start walking in the direction of the mass death pile of Titans. It smells disgusting I feel like I'm going to barf. "it smells like animal shit!" Jean complains. "Just shut up and keep moving." Erwin says clearly annoyed.

Levi walks up to a smaller titan and touches it's arm. He pulls his arm back quickly. "It's ice cold."

We take a few tests on the Titans to check for any internal issues that we can check when we get back. "Thank god Hanji isn't on this team she'd probably be back there sobbing..." Levi mutters. I just realized he mutters a lot.

We look through the piles of Titans and see nothing unusual about them. As I walk further into the death scene I start to feel light headed and the edges of my vision start to get fuzzy. I'm walking next to Levi so I put my hand on his shoulder and he looks over at me. Black dots start dancing across my vision. "Eren?" I hear him say before I slip into the darkness.

(Levi's pov)
As we walk through through the maze of dead titan bodies Eren randomly puts his hand on my shoulder. "Eren? Are you ok?" I ask him but he doesn't answer. My heart starts to beat a little faster and then he falls into my arms. "EREN!?" I yell my heart beating out of my chest. I'm freaking out. Everyone rushes to my aid and we lay him down on the ground. My hands are shaking, I've never acted like this before.

I feel as if everything else going on in the world stopped. I could barely hear what anyone around me was saying, all I could think about was Eren. I was and shaking him and calling out his name repetitively. 'What am I doing' I ask myself. 'Why am I acting like this!' Then he finally comes to. His deep Aqua eyes flutter open crashing over me like a wave.

"I thought I told you to stop scaring me brat!" I say relieved that he is ok.

(Eren's pov)
I wake up from the darkness and the first thing my eyes come to focus on is Levi leaning over me with his hands on my shoulders. "I thought I told you to stop scaring me brat!"

"I'm sorry captain." I say siting up with a grunt. I stand up shakily at first, I have to lean on Levi to gain my balance again. "I'm fine." I say and walk away. Levi catches up to me "are you sure your ok, you should drink some water." He says and hands me his canteen. "I'm fine." I say blushing at his sudden kindness.

"We should probably start heading back. Team B has already started moving out." He says pointing up to see the sky full of colors, the flares.

We hurry back to our horses which we tied to nearby trees, hopped on and started off. The feeling of wind through my hair was so refreshing as we galloped back to meet team B at the wall.
