"Tyler, wait up!" I hear as I'm walking down the hallway. Sighing, I stop and turn around. "For the last time Frog, I'm not takin' you with me. Find your own friends to hang out with," I complain as my twin sister catches up to me. She frowned and it was like looking in a mirror.

Her gray eyes matched mine, right down to the blue sunburst effect in the pupils. She shook her head, brunette curls bouncing. "I'm not asking anymore. I just wanted to know if I could catch a ride to Lilly's, we are gonna take the horses out for a bit before the sun goes down. It's on the way to Maylors anyways," she gave me puppy dog eyes and how could I say no? "Fine, but I'm leaving, now," I said, turning and marching towards the door. She laughed and grabbed my hand.

"Lilly really likes ya," she said as I opened the front door and grabbed my ball cap. I opened my mouth to speak, but she cut me off. "I know, you are focused on your roping and don't need no girl, but I'm just sayin' you should give her a chance." I scoffed as we got to the truck. "Frog, I told you, I don't need and don't want a girl. My girl is my horse. Well, and Ratchet, but them two are the only girls I need right now," I climbed in the drivers seat and waited for her to get in the passenger seat. "Lilly is a sweet girl, but I just don't have time for her." she climbed in and I started the truck.

"Well, she's still available if you ever change your mind," she buckled her seat belt and crossed her arms. "And don't call me Frog. We aren't little kids anymore."

I laughed and pulled my truck onto the driveway. We lived on 10 acres in the middle of nowhere Louisiana. As we drove down the small dirt path Frog looked out the window. "Aw, the bog's all dried up. We'll have to fix that this weekend," she said, glancing over at me and smiling.

The biggest is where we go mudding. Usually it stays pretty wet, but we've hit a bit of a dry spell, and because of it, the bog dried up. I stare at the road ahead, "Naw, it'll just make the mud really sticky, the four wheelers will get stuck. You'd be doin' more shaking and squirming than mud riddin'." I heard her grunt and looked over at her. "Victoria, you know I'm right-"

"I know, but that don't mean I have to like it." She said curtly, cutting me off. I shook my head and let out a short laugh as I turned onto the main road. We drove in silence for a few miles before I saw something up ahead.

"Look at that doe!" Victoria said, leaning forward in her seat. I slowed the truck as we approached the deer. She remained in the middle of the road, so I stopped. It was a beautiful white tail, right there in the middle of the road. I honked the horn, but it just continued to stand there. I heard the passenger side window roll down.

"Vic, don't," I warned as my sister went to reach for the rifle in the back seat. She frowned at me. "Tyler, we could be having backstrap for supper!" she protested. I shook my head and pointed at the deer. "That doe is pregnant. I'm all for backstrap, but not from a pregnant doe. You would kill the baby, and you can't eat it. I don't kill what I can't eat. Give her another few months Vic."

She sighed and rolled the window up as I put the truck in park. I slowly opened my door and unbuckled, sliding quietly out of the truck. "Ty, be careful please," I heard my sister say as I started towards the deer.

I got a good three feet before the deer turned and walked towards the side of the road. I watched as she climbed through the ditch and back up into the woods. Climbing back in the truck I looked over at my sister, "that was the coolest thing I've ever done." She laughed and I put the truck back in drive and started back down the road.

At the gas station, just five miles from the end of our driveway, I pulled over and handed Victoria a ten dollar bill. "Go get a coke for me and whatever you want, " I said as I reached for my phone. She nodded and got out of the truck. "Vic!" I called before she shut the door. She turned and looked at me, questioningly. "I want the change," I said as I narrowed my eyes. She rolled her eyes and shut the door.

I smiled and looked back at my phone. I opened my text messages and sent a new one.
At Wallards Station, gotta drop Frog off at Lil's then I'm headed to the river. Get a 12 pack and meet me out there. It's party time!

As soon as I sent the message I put my phone down and turned up the radio. Vic got back in the truck and handed me a Dr. Pepper and a can of skoal. I looked at her confused. "Uhm, I don't dip." I said holding up the can. "It's for Maylor dummy," she replied, taking a quick swig of her coke. I rolled my eyes and pulled out of the parking lot.

My phone buzzed and Victoria picked it up. "It's a message from Maylor," she said looking over at me. "Well, read it." I said, turning down another dirt road. I pushed the gas pedal down against the floorboards and made the tires spin. I saw Vic grab the dashboard in front of her and grit her teeth. "I hate it when you do that!" She said as I drifted around a curve in the road, making dirt fly behind us. I laughed and slowed down.

"What's the text say?" I asked. She shook her head, but looked at the phone. "Alright, bring the girls, it'll be fun!" she read then looked back at me. "Bring the girls? Me and Lilly?" She looked at my text and then frowned. "You were going to have a party without me and Lilly?" I rolled my eyes. "It's a guy's night out Vic, nothing personal." I said shrugging as I pulled into Lilly's yard.

She was sitting on her horse near the barn. I looked at her. She had long blonde hair and tan skin, blue eyes and long legs. Most guys would say she is pretty, but I just don't see it. I've known her my entire life, too me she is another sister.

She dismounted the horse and walked over to us. Victoria was looking at me with a pouty face and batted her eyelashes. I scowled and shook my head. "Hey Vic," Lilly said as she walked up, then looked at me. "Hi Ty, whatch y'all up to?" she asked, leaning against my door. I sighed and put the truck in park.

"Hope in, we are headed to a party at the river," I said as I looked up at her. She smiled and her impossibly white teeth almost blinded me. "Oh, awesome!" she said, opening the rear passenger door. When she closed it, she leaned her head up between the front seats and put her chin in her hands. "Who all is gonna be there?" she asked looking at me.

"Guess you will find out when we get there." I teased, pulling out of her yard. She sighed and sat back in the seat. "Have it your way then. Who is the designated driver?" She said, looking at Victoria.

I answered before Vic could say anything. "No one. You want to leave early, you find your own way home." Lilly rolled her eyes but didnt say a word. Vic shook her head and looked out the window. We drove in silence for a little bit until the river came into view.
