Chapter 3: A new world.

Days, weeks, and months passed by. John got accustomed to his living space, although he still founded it cramped sometimes. He and Adams had gotten a bit richer from their partnership, but barely enough to sustain both of them and their living conditions. John slept in the trailer attached to the car, while Adams slept in the driver's seat. It went on like this until they were hired by GammaMart, one of the largest grocery stores in Virginia. There, they could earn enough to better their living conditions. However, all of that changed when new management went into place.

You see, there was a new president in America about six months after John and Adams got their jobs at GammaMart. He was a clever politician, and once he got elected, he changed a lot of policies, including those that allowed grocery stores like GammaMart to exist. This caused the unemployment rate to soar, putting Adams and John, along with many others, out of business. Worse so, he changed the policies in a specific way where no one could run a business without a special permit. No matter how hard Adams tried to get a permit, however, he couldn't get one. Because of this, they had to sell the trailer in which John lived. Now, John slept in the driver's seat, while Adams slept in the cargo bed with propped-up sticks and a blanket cover. During rainy days, they had to sleep in the cramped space of the driver and passenger's seat. "Adams, I'm gonna do something about this goddamn president and his policies.", John said. "What could you do? He's the president!" "I'm gonna run for senate. If I get in, I'll try to rally fellow senators to impeach the president. You can be my campaign manager, and I'll pay you." "Sounds good." And so, John and Adams' political career was born, out of annoyance at a president's policies.
