Chapter Two - Birthday Event

Finally it's 25th September, which is Senju's birthday. I took a day off from work, as I do each year, preparing the celebration that I already planned since couple of weeks ago.

I'm standing in the kitchen while taking a closer look at the cake that came out perfectly from the oven. I'm proud at myself with the result. It also smells wonderful. Senju doesn't really like sweets so he hardly touches anything that came from stores. Fortunately he's willing to compromise at anything that I made for him.

I grab my phone from the pocket of my apron. It's almost 6 pm so I decide to message Senju.

"Se chan, are you coming home soon?"

I wait for his reply for a while but Senju still haven't read it so after wondering for a while, I drop messages to Benkei instead.

"Hi, Kei chan."

Benkei read it almost immediately.

"Hey, Risa chan. What is it?"

"Are you with Senju?"

"No, we didn't meet up today. What's up?"

"I see. He didn't read my chat so I thought perhaps he's with you guys."

"Should we look him for you? I'm with Waka right now."

"No, it's fine. I'll contact Akashi then. Please let Waka chan know that I say hi."

"Sure. Just let us know if there's anything, okay?"

"Thanks, Kei chan."

I dial Senju's number on my phone, it's through but he's not picking up. Just when I try to contact Akashi, I see the message he sent just few seconds ago.

"Risa chan, sorry but can you come to the hospital?"

"Send me the address."

"Okay, please drive carefully. Senju's fine, he just suffered from minor injury. It's just that hospital need his guardian to process the admission."

I quickly remove the apron and left it on the kitchen floor. I can feel my heart beat faster that it starts to hurt my ears. My hands are shaking when I reach the car door. Honestly I can't breathe. I hate hospital. I always think that I rather die than go to the hospital.

But if it is for Senju, I'll be fine. I can do anything for him because that's what I promised myself. Clearly this is not the first time that he admitted into the hospital. But the road to the hospital always seems longer and tougher for me to reach.

"Risa chan."

I hear Akashi voice when I rush into the hospital building.

"What happen? Where did he get hurt? Where is he now?"

I blurt out so many questions while I try to look for Senju from the people around us.

"Hey, calm down. He's fine."

Akashi put his both arms on my shoulders, reverts back my attention to him. He has the concerned look on his face.

"I'm sorry to make you go through this."

"I'm okay. Just let me see him."

So he takes me to the second floor of the building, after I finish doing the admission at the reception desk. When we walk into the ward where Senju's being treated at, I feel like I can finally breathe when I see Senju sitting on top of the hospital bed.
