Chapter Eight - Under The Moonlight Sky

I blink few times when I open my eyes. My eyes seem to be out of focus but I realize I'm lying on my back, on the hospital bed. I'm staring blankly at the ceiling above me, trying to figure out what has happened.

"You should rest some more."

I turn my face slowly and find Akashi is lying beside me.

"Am I dreaming?"

I whisper at him, making him chuckles.

"No. But you're feverish due to your wounds infection."

He puts his hand on my forehead, checking on my temperature. His cold hand is pleasant to feel.

"You collapsed; doctor said it's due to stress and exhaustion. So he gave you some shots, now you're in your medication."

I close my eyes back as I feel drowsy.

"When did you awake?"

I ask, slowly remembering the situation.

"Few hours ago. Senju and Wakasa have gone home. They'll come again later."

Then we stay silent for a while.

"I love Se chan, he's the best brother I could ever ask. Honestly I was happy when he stood out for me."

I mumble by myself suddenly.

"What about me?"

I hear Akashi asks.

"I was mad at you."

I open my eyes again when I realize I'm snuggling in his arms.

"But how come you sleep on my bed?"

I ask.

"Hey, it's the other way around."

He laughs, making me wonder when I had gone up here.

"I'm sorry if I made you mad or worried."

He adds while he stares at me.

"Yeah...you did. You're the worse, Ka chan."

I start grumbling so he pulls me closer and pats my head.

"Okay, okay, I understand. Go back to sleep now, Risa chan."

I fall to sleep as soon I close my eyes.

I wonder how many hours passed when I woke up. The night has fallen when I get up from the hospital bed. The room is empty. I try to take a look at the hallway but no one's there. So I grab my phone that's on the side desk inside of the hospital ward and message Senju.

"Are you home, Se chan?"

"Yes, Onee chan. You were still sleeping when we left after checking on you. How's your feeling right now?"

"I see. Okay, Se chan. I feel much better now."

"That's great, Onee chan. I'll come to pick you up tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay. Thanks, Se chan."

Then I check on Miwa's messages, I totally forgot about our plan for today so I decided to tell her about the incident that made me hospitalized.

"So are you okay now, Risa?"

She calls as soon as she reads my messages.

"Yes. I'm much better now, Miwa. And really sorry about our plan."

"Are you kidding me? Forget about that! You better get well soon, okay? I'll check on you daily until I can make sure you're okay."

Miwa yells me on the phone, making me laugh.
