It was Christmas eve and I was still working at the shop; Manish had gone to meet his dad once his extra classes were over. I was working in the shop alone, not many people came to the shop on this day but there were people around.
I was preparing to close the shop when I heard someone come in.
"The shop is going to get closed soon what do you need?" I asked without looking up.
"You." A hard voice said, for a minute I felt goosebumps on my skin and a chill down my spine. I looked up and was shocked to see the same guy from the market. What is he doing here?
"Excuse me?" I asked with a little fear.
"Um... 'You', the new pencil box." He said without any faults, his voice was so clear I could drown in it.
"Hey! I need it now." He brought me out of my thoughts.
"Umm. yeah one sec." I had completely forgotten about the new brand, YOU that was released last year. It's a pencil used for sketching; it has this light at the back of it that helps you see your sketches in the dark.
I grabbed the box and handed it over to him. "That will be Rs 199."
"Keep the change." He paid and left.
"Wait..." Are you kidding me! Rs 500, that's a lot of tip. I can't accept this, it's not right.
I ran out of the shop with his change but couldn't find him anywhere. Did he just disappear?
Sighing I went back to the shop, kept the money with me, swore to never use it. I'll return it to him as soon as I see him.
That is if I get to see him. I went back home to get ready for the midnight mass. My mom is a catholic and my dad is a Hindu, but since dad was not around, mom made me go to church and get baptized.
Therefore, I am partial Hindu and partial Catholic. I believe in God.
So, I got my Christmas outfit out of my cupboard and put on a little makeup and waited for my mom in the living room.
My mom came out of her room wearing a one piece and I swear she looked so beautiful and hot I wonder why she didn't get married to someone else.
"Mom you look amazing!" I said with awe in my eyes.
"Oh, thank you baby, let's get going."
We left for church on my bike, mom had collected money over the year to buy a new dress for herself and I'm glad she did that. She doesn't know how beautiful she is. I admire her a lot and I'm glad I have a great relationship with her.

Once the mass ended Mr. Anderson came to us to wish us Merry Christmas. He looked at my mom the same way I looked at her in the evening. And I was in awe.
Mr. Anderson is in-charge of the youth of our parish so I know him pretty well.
He is around my mom's age, he's a well to do man and he's single. Perfect for my mom.
Once Mr. Anderson left, I met with a few of my youth group friends and then left to go home. It was really cold and I just wanted to be in the comfort of my blanket.
Once I reached home, I grabbed my phone and checked the messages. Everyone were wishing merry Christmas, one by one I replied to them all.
Once I finished replying there was this one message that caught my eye, it was from an unknown number.
Unknown number: Merry Christmas baby girl.
Baby girl? Who is this?
Me: Who's this?
I know I shouldn't have replied but I just felt so I replied.
Unknown number: I love you.
What the actual hell! Sorry Jesus. I decided to ignore the number and block it. I don't need to reply to him I don't even know who it is. I know I should have checked it up but I really don't have a great phone and I don't have much space to download apps.
I kept my phone aside and went to sleep.
