𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝟒: 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏

The three of them sat in prison. Vanitas sat with Corinne to his side, his gloves running through Corinne's hair. Vanitas loved when she had her hair down. Corinne sat there and she didn't mind when he touched her hair. It was relaxing for her. Noé sat in front of them as he watched Vanitas playing with Corinne's hair.

"Vanitas, there is something I'd like to ask you." Noé narrowed his eyes at Vanitas, watching him run his fingers through Corinne's hair.

"What is it, Out with it?" Vanitas stared at Noé while twirling a piece of Corinne's hair in between his fingers. Corinne sat there in silence as she glanced between the two.

"Why are we in prison and why are you playing with Corinne's hair?" Noé asked. Vanitas was still twirling Corinne's hair in between his fingers.

"Very Good question why we are in Prison Noé, and this is comforting and Mon amour doesn't mind me doing this, do you?" Vanitas admitted he glanced over at Corinne who nodded her Green eyes.

"I don't mind." Corinne said quietly. Vanitas smiled at her before turning to look at Noé. Noé sighed as he glanced at the red-haired girl he was curious about.

Ten hours earlier...

The three of them were walking down the street, Noé walking ahead of Vanitas and Corinne. Corinne followed behind Vanitas, her hair moving in the wind while she watched Vanitas continued to pester Noé about joining him and Corinne.

"I'll say this as often as I must. Noé Lend me your strength!" Vanitas shouted with a massive smile on his face. He was eager about having Noé join his team. Corinne stared at the floor while they walked; she was getting tired of the Useless bickering between the two. But the time to two spent together she knew Vanitas wasn't going to stop unless Noé was going to join them

"No!" Noé Yelled back while he looked over his shoulder at the two. The two were gaining unwanted attention from people walking the street. Corinne sighed under her breath. Vanitas turned to look over his shoulder to see Corinne slowly following them he grabbed her hand to have her walk next to him.

"Why not what objections could you have? Listen to what we have to say first. If we talk it through you'll understand." Vanitas cheerfully went while dragging Corinne.

"Vanitas I don't think he will join." Corinne said quietly. Vanitas turned to look at her.

"Oh he will in due time." Vanitas smirked."And By the way. Where are you going? My, but I am hungry." Vanitas asked as he patted his stomach as he slowly glanced at Corinne. Corinne raised her eyebrow at him but a low rumble erupts from Vanitas's stomach.

"Vanitas, do you want me to stop off at a bakery to get you something?" Corinne asked while she titles her head to the side like a puppy waiting for Vanitas's command.

"Non. I am going to continue to follow Noé until he agrees to join us, but thank you Mon amour." Vanitas responded with a smile bringing Corinne's gloved hands to his lips giving it a kiss while they walked. Corinne stared blankly at him, a blush on her cheeks.

"You are seriously annoying." Noé comments as he groans under his breath. He brought his hand to his head a pulsing feeling. Corinne watched the white-haired man walking ahead of them. "I beg your pardon but there is a place I must go to immediately."

"In that case, get that errand taken care of!" Vanitas commanded.

Noé sighed." You're coming with me."

Corinne let go of Vanitas's hands while slowly making her way to Noé placing her hand on his arm. Noé stopped and looked down to see the worried expression on her face. Seeing how unwell he looked up close she had a feeling the poison was taking effect. And all the walking they had been doing and Vanitas pestering must have not been helping him. A small blush on Noé's face as he looked down at Corinne.

"Excuse me Monsieur Noé, but can we stop for a second? You don't look well and Vanitas is hungry. Do you think we can have a little break and get something to eat?" Corinne asked.

Noé shook his head while he reached for Corinne's hand holding it in his." I am fine, Mlle Corinne. But I need to get my cat Murr back."

Corinne nodded as she looked up at him."If you say so But you look quite ill, please don't overwork yourself, but if you do feel worse tell me immediately." Corinne gave him a small smile. Noé blushed slightly at Corinne, turning his head to the side, his eyesight going Blurry to look at Vanitas. Vanitas slightly glared at Noe for touching Corrine's hand. Vanitas quickly made his way to Corinne, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Mon amour, you are always so kind to people." Vanitas Teased softly, placing a kiss on her cheek. Noé let go of Corinne's hand walking ahead of the two. Vanitas and Corinne followed Close behind. Vanitas's hand was Firmly placed in Corinne's hand as they followed Noé.

Corinne looked at the nightlife while they walked the thoughts of the Lady they saved today and Aerin popped into her head. She looked over at the people as she pictured Aerin's sweet smile. The memories of Aerin's and how she used to Drag Corinne to places and them dancing in the street together, the picture of Aerin laughing. Corinne let out a shaky sigh, Vanitas glanced over his shoulder at Corinne and gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

After a few moments, they arrived at the place Noé took them to. People staring at them and whispering to each other. Corinne raised her eyebrow at the people.

"We're here, Vanitas, Mlle Corinne," Noé said with a sickly expression while pointing to the structure. Corinne's eyes widened as she looked at Noé. "All right..I'll just go just go collect my cat and lulggage I'll be back."

Vanitas let go of Corinne's hand stomping over to Noé. Roughly grabbing his collar, shaking him." Are you an idiot!? Why did you saunter back to the airship!"

Noé looked even more sickly." Well because of my cat." Corinne walked up to Vanitas, placing her hand on his shoulder shaking her head lightly at him. Vanitas let go of Noé.

"Ahh! There they! that's them the intruders." The guard shouted as he pointed at the three of them. The crowd of people gasped.

"Curses!" Vanitas shouted, He stomped on the ground. Corinne's eyes widened as she watched Noé wobble; she quickly rushed to his side as he started to fall. Corinne yelped as she fell to her knees trying to support Noé. Noé landed in an awkward position face first with his face on Corinne's stomach. Corinne blushed as she rolled him and laid him with his head on her lap. Her eyebrows furrow while she whipped the beads of sweat off his forehead and gently brushed the hair away from his eyes.

Corinne glanced up at Vanitas with Pleading Puppy dog eyes hoping he had a plan. Vanitas groaned as he glanced at the two of them he knew it would be a bad idea to leave Noé there in his condition, however, he wanted to make a clean escape and not cause any issue for Corinne. But the look in Corinne's eyes reminded him of when he first met her. Corinne looked down at Noé listening to his ragged breathing. Corinne looked back up at Vanitas.

"We can't leave him here." Corinne mouthed to Vanitas. Vanitas sighed as he gave Corinne a soft look. He couldn't say no to Corinne.
