Cleopatra

"Madam can I please leave, my little sister just hot into an accident" I begged my boss.

"Not again Cleopatra." she groaned irritatedly. "You have barely covered your shift.

"I'm sorry" I sighed. "I'll work double tonight"

"We both know that won't happen, something family related will come up again."

"I'm sorry Ms Griff, I'll be doing double shifts to cover up."

"That won't be necessary anymore, your services are no longer needed in this diner." she told me.

"Ms Griff please, I need this job, I need the money" I pleaded

"I know and I understand, I really do hut I've got a business to run Cleopatra, I can't be giving you free money, you're barely here for an hour and your phone is blowing up with family emergencies leaving the others to do the work for you, they are tired too, we all have family problems but we don't let that interfere with our work." she explained.

" I won't let it anymore, just please don't fire me" at this point I was on my knees.

"I wish I could believe that but it's impossible considering your mother's condition."

"Please" I let out.

"I'm sorry" she sighed walking away.

I was on my knees watching Ms Griff walk away after firing me, she had just fired me, this was the last source of income I had it is was gone now.

"Cleo, you need to hold to the hospital" Andrew lifted me off my knees "Rabbeca says she's in a terrible condition."

"Right" I nodded running out of the small dinner I had been working at for the past year.

"What happened?" I asked Rabbeca who was wailing outside the emergency room.

"We were crossing the street I didn't know she had remained behind." Megan cried

"Are you just out of your freaking mind, how could you be so careless!" I yelled at her.

"I'm sorry" She cried even more.

"Do either dad or mum know?" I changed the subject.

"No" Rabbeca shook her head.

"Good don't tell either of them." I ordered.

Nurses kept run in and out of the emergency room and I kept trying to get any sort of information from them but non of them even bothered to stop and answer me.

"Cleo I'm sorry" Megan sighed sitting beside me on the hard cold floor.

"It's OK, it wasn't your fault" I hugged her.

"No" she shook her head. "it is, I should have never taken her along in the first place and I shouldn't have let go of her hand."

"It's not your fault Meg, it's no one's, I know you didn't want Zara to get hurt, I'm sorry for lashing at you" I told my little sister and hugged her.
