Noah & Josh

A new student

In that moment I didn't know what to do, especially after hearing those words coming out from my father's mouth. It's not like I didn't know he would react like this, but thinking about it and going trough it are two completely different things. On top of all this my mother wasn't home, which meant I had no one by my side. I know she would never let him get this far.

I hadn't opened my mouth once, but the insults just kept coming, so I went to my room. As soon as I got in, I locked the door and started crying. I had no choice but to pack my bags like he said. My mom would be home in a few hours and I'd love to be with her so she could comfort me. But I couldn't stay here anymore, not after what happened. I packed my bags as quickly as possible and left without even looking at him.

I left my house and just started walking, not knowing where I was going or what I would do when I got here. I hadn't realized but I was still crying. I eventually come back to my senses, only to find myself under pouring rain, the sky as gray as I had ever seen it. In that moment, the rain was the least of my problems, but it actually felt good. Almost as if it was clearing my mind.

I don't know how much time had passed, but I started hearing someone calling out my name. At first it was really far, but it got progressively closer, so I looked back and saw her. It was Any, she had been looking for me. When she realized that I had seen her, she started running towards me and hugged me. She didn't say a word, but I knew how much I had worried her.

After a long conversation, Any convinced me to stay at her house for a while. My mom hadn't stop calling ever since she found out I left the house, but I didn't have the guts to talk to her yet.

"Noah you should call your mom, she must be worried sick" Any kept telling me this, but I wasn't ready.

"I know I should, but I don't feel ready"

I had spent all weekend in Any's house, it was already Sunday night, meaning tomorrow I have to go to school. For the past few days my mom kept calling, but I haven't pick up one of her calls yet. 

I was about to fall asleep when Any burst into the room and jumped on the bed, almost scaring me to death.

"Let's go see a movie! The premiere is today! I really really want to see it" she said almost screaming

"What? Are you nuts? She have school tomorrow"

"C'mon!! I'll make sure we get home not too late, around 3AM maybe"

"That's not late for you!?"

"PLEASEEEE! Do you me want me go alone? I mean something could happen to me, you know?" She was practically begging by now.

"OKAAY I'll go, I can't believe your playing the innocent card though" I said laughing

I took a bath and got ready, not really feeling it, but maybe it would be good for me. Depressing in bed all day wasn't the answer for sure.

We got to the movies and Any went to buy the tickets. If she dragged me out here, she'll pay for the tickets. When she got the tickets, we went to the see the movie. I saw the title and I realize it's a horror movie

"ANY GABRIELLY you brought to see a horror movie?? You know damn well I don't like this type of movies"

"Don't worry it's not a horror movie, maybe a few jump scares here and there but it's mostly fun. We'll have a good time, I promise!"

"It really looks like a horror movie to me but SUUUURE" I really didn't believe her but I'm not going back now, I'll just have to suck it up

"CHIIIL, you can always hold my hand if you get scared... PUSSY" She started laughing hysterically, like she just told the funniest joke of all time.

The movie had finally come to an end, and once we were outside Any couldn't stop laughing

"I should've recorded you watching the movie, I'm sure it would be a hit on YouTube ahahah You were screaming ALL the time"

"IT'S NOT FUNNY!! You know I'm scared of movies like this, and If I remember correctly you told me it wasn't that scary"

"You're right, sorry. But I really thought it wouldn't be that scary, the last one was nothing like this"

"It's okay, let's go home, it's getting late"

It was morning already. Any and I were getting ready for school

"Noah, is everything alright?" she asked as she saw I was with a sad look on my face.

"To be honest, I don't really feel like going to school. I won't have the courage to look Josh in the face. The things he said... I never thought he would stoop that low"

"I understand, he was an ass to you, probably because of that bitch Scarlett. I know it won't be easy, but you have to forget him. You know I'll be by your side, no matter what"

"You're right. He doesn't deserve my friendship" I glanced at my watch "We should go, or we'll be late"

When we arrived at school everything seemed normal, but then I remember. The first period was with Josh. I went to the classroom anyway, I couldn't be late because of him.

As soon as I entered the classroom I saw him. He was sitting at our usual table, but Scarlett was in my seat. They didn't even recognized my presence, totally ignoring me. Unfortunately, I had to sit upfront as it as the only table available. A few minutes go by, and the principal got into the room with a guy I had never seen around school.

"Attention please. This is Bailey May. A transfer student from another state. He will be in your class this year, please be welcoming towards him. Be sure to help with anything he needs. Bailey you can sit there with Noah. Noah since you have a free period next can you show Bailey around, so that he knows the school? That's all, have a nice class." I said yes and the principal left.

Bailey sat beside me and in a hushed voice said "Do you usually scream that much in the movie theatre?" and laughed a bit

I looked at him with my eyes wide open and I realized I knew his face from somewhere. He was seated my by side in the movies yesterday. I started to blush and said "OMG let's NOT talk about that please. I was not my finest moment" After that the class went as usual. The bell rang and Bailey and I got out. I was going to show him the school.

We were walking trough the hallways and he said:

 "What's the deal with the blonde guy?" I was confused with the question

"What? you mean Josh?" I was confused with the question

"Yeah, the blonde guy in the back. He was staring at you, like ALL of the time"

"You must be imagining things. What he wants right now is anything but stare at me, believe me"

"What happened between with you?"

Before I could answer the question I got interrupted. It was one of Josh's friends.

"You just got here, are you sure you want to be seen with him?" He was pointing at me

"What do you mean?"

"I heard that gayness is contagious, you should be careful" He had a grin on his face while he said that

I looked up and Josh was watching, clearly enjoying all of this.

Out of the bloom Bailey kissed me on the cheek. I just stood there not knowing what to do. I just heard him saying:

"OH NO, YOU WERE RIGHT I'm feeling the effects already!! You better go away, before you catch it. Let's go Noah, you have a school to show me"
