I don't know how he acted so naturally in that moment. All I was able to say was "Thank you"

"No problem, he had no business saying that. Are you okay?" he seemed actually worried

"Yeah I'm fine, the last time something like this happened it was way worse."

"Is that why the blonde dude kept staring at you?"

"Yeah... We were good friends, but I liked him. I never meant for him to find out, I thought I would eventually forget him and he's known to be kinda homophobic. But a few weeks ago this girl named Scarlett published a screenshot of a conversation I had with my best friend where we talked about him. That's how the whole school found out. Josh never liked Scarlett but when all of this happened they started hanging out. Last week we got into a huge fight, he called me a lot of homophobic slur. On top of all this, my father also found that and kicked me out of the house.

"I'm really sorry for you. If there's something I can do to help, tell me"

"You already helped me A LOT back there. For real THANK YOU" As soon as I say this, Bailey hugged me and in that moment everything was good.

After I finished giving the tour, we parted ways since we had different classes in that period. I had some time before the class started, so I went to find Any and told her what happened. She immediately started making jokes about Bailey and me. i just ignored it, she would stop eventually ahah.

It was the end of the day. Any and I found Bailey at the exit, so I introduced them both. We exchange phone numbers and left for Any's house.

We got to the house, and I immediately recognized the car parked up front. My mom was here... Any recognized the car too and just kept nudging me towards the entrance. My mom was in the kitchen having coffee with Any's mom. When she saw me, she sprung out of the chair and hugged so tight I almost choked.

"Don't ever do that again, I was so worried" She was crying and obviously I was too.

"I know what I did was stupid, but I couldn't face you. Not after what happened with dad"
We were still hugging and crying "How are you??"

"Right now what matters is that YOU are alright" She was looking me in the eyes now like she did whenever she was talking about something serious. It was soothing. In that moment I realized I'd missed her so much.

"I'm ok now, thanks to Any and her mom. They did everything to make sure I was feeling safe here."

She turned to Any and her mother "I couldn't thank you enough for what you've been doing for him. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if it weren't for you both"

"You have nothing to thank us for. Noah is like a son to me and the brother Any never got to have. I'd do it all over again."

"You guys should really stop with all that, or I'm going to cry even more" I was half crying and laughing by this point.

They all started laughing with me. The laughs came to an halt when I heard my mom speak again.

"Noah, I want you to come back home" I was stunned and all I could say was

"But, what about dad? I can't go back... I'm not ready"

"Don't worry about it. I kicked him about. No way I was going to let him stay. Not after what he did to you." All I could do was look at her, my eyes wide open. I didn't know what to say so I hugged her. We stayed like that for a while. After that I went to pack my stuff. I was going home...

On the next day I arrived at school and went straight to my locker. As I was passing the halls I saw a huge crowd, someone was fighting. I got closer and saw who it was. Bailey and Josh were fighting for some reason. I ran over to them, just in time to see Josh knocking Bailey to the ground. I couldn't just be a bystander so I put myself between them and helped Bailey get up.

"Bailey are you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine, nothing to worry about"

"You're bleeding! Can you explain me what's happening here?"

"He came to talk shit about you" He was pointing to Josh, who immediately started screaming

"Talk shit?!! I just said what everyone's thinking around here the past few days" He turned to face me "Walking with him, will tarnish your reputation"

Bailey had a smirk on his face "You see? He only talks shit! I'LL KILL HIM" Bailey tried to swing at Josh but I stopped him

"STOP! You don't have to put yourself in this situation. Not on your second day and especially not because of me" He started to calm down, so I let him down and turn to Josh

"If you have a problem with me. Come to ME! This is between you and me. There's no need to put other people in the middle of this."

Josh had this mean look on his face "Who are you to tell ME what to do fag?" As he was done talking he pushed me. Luckily, Bailey was behind me and caught me without a problem.

He started to get close to us and looked me in the eyes "I'm sure your dad is ashamed of having you as a son" His words were like venom. Given what I've been through the past few days my only reaction to his words were punching him in the face so hard that he fell to the ground. You could hear people gasping, no one was expecting that to happen. And to be honest I was shocked too.

Josh started to get up, slowly, putting his finger on his lips only to realize they were bleeding. He started to laugh in an ironic way "Guess who decided to man up" he started to get close to me again, but Bailey put himself in front of me. In that moment some of Josh's friends got there and shielded him.

I don't know how it happened, but when I noticed it the majority of people surrounding us were no longer there. And that's when I saw the principal approaching  us.

"Can someone care to explain what's going on here?" No one said a word, we all knew we were in trouble...
