'Freeze!' Someone called from five metres away. A gun clicked. This time, it was a licensed one.
'Jim!' my mum screamed. I was so relieved to hear her voice. I wasn't alone. In fact, it sounded like the whole police force had come to my rescue.
'Drop the gun,' an officer shouted.
Silence.
I heard the rustle of clothes as the murderer's hand shot forward to grab me.
Before I passed out, I heard a scream of pain.
