<Piper's POV>
I know what I saw. I can't change it and I can't forget it. I saw it. Now I'm in danger. I live with them and I am in danger of them. I'm scared and lost ad confused. Why would they do something like this? What was their motive to do it? They were family friends! We have known them for years and they killed them!

It was a dark stormy night and I couldn't sleep. I was sitting up in bed just watching the rain fall outside the window and listening to it roughly pound on the roof. I pulled the covers up to my chin and just sat there for half an hour. Then I saw something else moving outside. It looked like people. I gasped and ran to my parents room. "Mom Dad there is someone or something outside I'm really scared help me pl........ Guys?" I ran over to the bedside and tried to wake them. I pushed them side to side, but nothing happened. It looked like they were there. I yanked away the covers and my eyes got wide. They weren't there. It was just a bunch of pillows fashioned to look like them. I sped out of the room and down the stairs. I looked all over the main floor and the basement. Then I pressed my face against the big glass window and saw the figures running across my yard again. I screamed. My sister Jamie came down looking confused and tired. "Shut the hell up! There are people trying to sleep! Whatever you saw is your imagi-fricken-nation! Go to bed!" She walked sluggishly back upstairs. I watched her close her bedroom door and then slowly opened up the door to the back porch and walked down the steps. I slowly followed the figures from afar, but at first I had to run to catch up to them. I hid behind trees and bushes while getting soaked. They went towards one of the houses down the street that I knew very well. It was my best friend Kayla's house. We had known their family since I was three. They started messing with the door handle and I used every ounce in my body not to run up and stop them. They finally got the door to open and an alarm went off so they quickly ran to stop it and I hustled quietly inside. I hid behind the couch while the figures silently stepped up the creaky stairs finding the places where the stairs didn't creak. I waited until they were out of site and then followed them. They went into Kayla's parents' room and left the door open to where I could just barely see. They pulled two large knives out of a bag and I gasped quietly. They reached the knives up and I turned away just in time to hear a sickening crunch and grunts and blood curdling screams. I was glad that Kayla was sleeping over at our friend Judith's house. I couldn't go because I was sick.

I quickly but silently ran down the stairs and out the door and towards my house in fear of my life. I turned my neck around to see if they were following me. Even though they weren't, sweat still glistened on my brow and I ran as fast as possible. I wanted to get home and be safe.

I hustled up the back porch steps and went through the back door and into the house, still sopping wet. I slammed the door behind me breathing heavily and sunk to the floor in sobs. My second parents were just murdered. I turned around to look through the rain stained window, my tears wetting the glass. The figures were coming towards my house. I didn't care anymore. My friend's family was killed which is like my family being killed. I just sat and watched but backed up to the couch.

The figures, in all black, came up to the door and started to unlock it. I silently accepted my fate and sat vulnerably on the couch watching the door. Slowly, very slowly, the door unlocked and started to open. I took deep breaths.

And then they walked in. They took off their masks and I stared at them with wide eyes and a hanging jaw.

My parents stood before me drenched in water and had smug smiles on their faces as they put the no longer bloody knives in the black bag. They turned towards the stairs which were near the couch and stopped dead. I was sitting there just staring. They looked back at me an tried to cover.

"Hey hun! What are you doing up?"
I sat there still staring.
"Why? Why would you do that? They are innocent people and my friend's parents! Why? Just why?!?" I screamed at them.
"Wait you saw us? Oh. Now that will not do. " They ran towards me and I tried to get out of the way but I wasn't fast enough. They caught me and covered my mouth. They carried me up to their room and locked the door.
"So you saw us killing Kayla's parents?" I nodded sobbing still unable to talk because of my father's hand on my mouth. My mother stared at me with a look of pure hatred and anger.
"You will never tell anyone. Do you understand me?" I just sobbed I tried to say no. I tried to tell them I would call the police.
My mother smacked me with a force I didn't know existed and my face stung. I wailed under my dad's hand and she asked the question again and again until she believed that I would never say anything. My intentions were to tell someone as soon as I got the chance. Then my mother said something that changed my mind.
"If you ever say anything to anyone about this, we will kill you." I stared at her with sheer terror. My parents had a motive to kill me. I wasn't safe in my own home.
"Now go to bed and forget about this. Or else."

I walked to my room my face stained with tears and still stinging from my mom's slaps. I sat in my bed and cried for hours. I cried myself to sleep that night. I will never trust anyone again.

Ever.
