"Mike," Katie asked on the bus ride home, "what are people thinking now? And did you say yes to Tami?" Mike was, interested. "Well, yes, I did." Mike answered, "I thought that she told you." She looked annoyed, "She hates me! And you excepct her to tell me!" Half the bus was looking at them now. "Um, Katie, the whole bus is looking at us." He replied in a harsh whisper. "Oh, cause I really care!" She continued not even caring that her crush, Gavin Thomas, was looking directly at her. "Um you should because, guess who's looking at you." Mike replied. At that moment, Gavin got up and walked over to Katie just as she turned around.

"Hey," Gavin said as he sat down next to Katie, "I feel bad about how your parents split and married Mikes, but, would you like to go to the malls food court with me on Saterday?" Katie's head was thinking if a reply, what he said and why he was asking her? She was the lowest of the lows at their school. "I'd love to but I'll have to ask first."
