After dinner, Mrs. Potts was leading Beau and (Y/n) back to their room.
"I don't understand why your all being so kind to us." (Y/n) commented. "Surely you're as trapped here as we are."
"Don't you ever want to escape?" Beau asked.
"The master's not as terrible as he appears. Somewhere deep in his soul, is a prince...of a fellow who's just waiting to be set free." Mrs. Potts explained.
Beau turned and looked up the stairs. "Lumière mentioned something about the west wing."
"Never you mind about that. Off to bed with you poppets." Mrs. Potts told them.
"Good night." (Y/n) told her.
"Nighty-night princess." Mrs. Potts said. "Straight to bed." She scolded, before rolling away.
After she left, Beau started going up the right staircase.
"Beau! Where are you going?" (Y/n) whispered.
"Come on (Y/n)! Aren't you a little curious?" Beau asked, still walking up the stairs.
(Y/n) followed him to make sure he didn't do anything stupid.
...
The west part of the castle was more destroyed then the rest. But he kept climbing up the stairs, (Y/n) following behind him. When they got to the top, they came across a door. Beau started to open it, when (Y/n) grabbed his arm.
"Beau, I don't think this is a good idea." She told him.
"It'll be fine (Y/n). Just a quick peek." He opened the door and slipped in. (Y/n) followed him in, still nervous about what might be in there.
It looked like a bedroom. There was a large fire place by a large bed, and there was a balcony and a desk. But what put them on edge the most was that there were things that appeared to be broken and smashed.
Beau and (Y/n) noticed a portrait to the right of the door. The portrait showed a man and a woman with two children; a boy and a girl. The man and the boy's face were scratched off.
They walked further into the room and saw a rose underneath a glass case out on the balcony.
For some reason, (Y/n) felt drawn to it. She walked out onto the balcony and lifted the glass case off.
"(Y/n), what are you doing?!" Beau exclaimed.
She ignored him and reached out her finger and touched the rose.
As soon as she did, she was overcome with a series of flash backs.
....
A boy and a girl were sitting in front of a fireplace. The boy was reading while the girl was drawing. Their mother sat in a rocking chair behind them, humming. The girl showed the boy her drawing of a tree she had done.
"Look Adam!" She little girl said, showing him her drawing.
"That's really good (Y/n)!" Her brother complimented. Making the girl smile.
Then, their father walked in and saw them.
"What are you two doing? Why aren't you doing your studies?" He snapped at them.
"Papa, look!" The little girl showed her drawing to her father. He picked it up before looking at her disappointed.
"(Y/n), a princess does not waste her time on such ridiculous things. It won't get you anywhere. Now, go do your studies!" Her father shouted, tossing her drawing aside and storming out.
