The Verdot Cyprus

Ruby, and Ahsoka stand in front of Ozpin, General Ironwood, and Glenda Goodwitch. They had just shown the footage left in Alexander while Blake, Yang, and Weiss wait in the dorm.

"Well Miss Rose, thank you for bringing this to our attention." Ozpin says standing from his seat cane in hand. "You two should return to your dorm. Please keep this matter to yourselves until the assailants are caught."

Ironwood nods. "Yes, if they're still here, and word spread out then it's likely that they'll take extra care to go unnoticed or even leave." Ironwood explains.

Glynda nods agreeing with Ironwood before turning to the girls. "You two are dismissed." With that Ruby and Ahsoka nod before leaving.

Ironwood sighs. "Ozpin they are here. Now."

Ozpin nods numbly. "At least with this we know who they are. Now we can find them, and take care of this matter."

Ironwood glances at Ozpin. "What do you have in mind?" He asks.

"We know the Pawns are here in the school. We can now investigate this, but..." Ozpin stops turning to Ironwood. "We must do so discreetly. We mustn't be too rash. Doing so could not only alert the ones we try to find, but also cause concern to others."

Ironwood grimaced at the thought. "I agree." He sighs. The General then furrows his brows in thought. "What of Qrow? Has he made contact again?"

Glynda shakes her head. "No, we haven't received anything from him since the night of the incident at the Docks."

"Do you think he could've been compromised?" Ironwood asks worriedly.

Ozpin sighs. "It is a possibility. However, we must also understand that his scroll could have simply been destroyed in a fight." Ozpin trusted that Qrow wouldn't go down easily let alone join the enemy.

In the forrest under the shattered moon's light Anakin sits in a tree near the camp messing with the Transmitter using the limited tools he had with a scowl. Dispite the simple design compared to the technology he had experience with it would frustrate him on occasion as parts would be in the exact opposite place as he would normally see, and other parts would be a different shape or color. At one point he about had a heart attack thinking he had destroyed it for good only to find that he had accidentally cut the wire connected to the light.

Finally after a few hours of work he managed to reverse the signal, and connect it to his scroll. To his surprise the signal bounced off of three locations. Using his scrolls map he could see that one was in Vale, one was nearby, and one was in an uncharted part of the ocean. Anakin figures that the signal in Vale was the transmission going through the CCT based on where the Vale signal was transmitting from.

Anakin smiles knowing he had finally got the results he wanted. He looks over to see Port, and Crimson asleep in their sleeping bags. Rex and Lilly however were huddled up around a campfire. Anakin watched with a smirk as Rex laughs with Lilly about something Lilly had said.

In the morning Anakin wakes and aid his teammates in packing. "Do you hear that?" Crimson asks cautiously. The team listens for a moment while quietly readying their weapons. Just then they heard a low growl. It sounded vary similar to that of a Beowolf, but it was distorted, no deeper. Darker. The team and Port backed into a circle looking for the source. Then it came. Anakin watched as the tree in front of him was pushed to the side almost effortlessly. Before him was an abomination of a Grimm Beowolf. It was larger and had green spikes protruding from its back and shoulders. The normal red eyes and veins were green.

"Found it." Anakin says warily. The team turns to see it. It was easily twice their hight. Anakin clutches his head in pain as loud screams echoed in his mind. The beast dose not care however, and gives out a large roar as it smashes its claws into the ground as large green spike erupted from it. The team jumps out of the way while Anakin is hit launching him into a tree. The rest of the team then quickly begin their retaliation. Rex splits off Clones giving splits of clones to keep the Odd Grimm back. Lilly then rushes around on the left side before charging in with water and ice dust using both to freeze its legs in place.

It roars in fury only to have its eyes sliced by Crimson's spear. Anakin finally manages to get back to the group as Rex and his clones then circle the beast. The team backs behind Anakin in case of a stray blaster bolts, but despite the volley of blaster bolts the Abomination roars. It uses its claws to smash the ice freeing its legs only to collapse and start disintegrating.

Port then approaches the disintegrating form, kneeling down to inspect it. "How odd. It appears to have Dust infused with it."

"Maybe that's how it was ably to use that spike attack?" Crimson offers.

"Perhaps." Port nods.

Rex looks to Anakin who puts his hand to his head. What was that? Anakin wondered. Who was that? Rex then approach's placing a hand on Anakin's shoulder. "Are you alright?" He asks.

"Yeah, yeah." Anakin waves him off. "Just an odd feeling in the force." Anakin then pulls out his scroll and the device. "I managed to get the signal we needed last night. Let's go. Maybe it'll have an explanation for the weird Grimm."

The group nods. Port laughs in excitement admiring Anakin's knack for leadership. The team then follows Anakin as he leads them through to a beach where a large ship sits beside wooden docks. Next to the docks was an abandoned facility. On the boat it was labeled 'The Verdot Cyprus'. It was white with green accents and had the Merlot Industries symbol. On it was a radio tower.

"Well, that's not ominous at all." Lilly says sarcastically.

"Where to first?" Anakin asks.

Port puts a hand to his chin for a moment. "Perhaps we should check the ship first. Unlike that facility over there the ship can move." Anakin nods to this. The group then heads over and boards the ship.

Once inside the team sees odd droids all mangled and destroyed. There were claw marks, and bullet holes on the walls. After exploring a bit the team comes across the bridge. It was empty aside from a computer with a active camera on top. As they approach Anakin notices the camera move. Anakin get the others attention pointing to it. Next thing they knew the computers screen flashes to life. On it was an elderly man with messy gray hair and a beard. He had one mechanical eye, and what seems to be one mechanical arm. He wore a red shirt mostly covered with a gray jacket. He seemed surprised to see Anakin and his team. Port's however widened in recognition.

"Well isn't this a surprise." The man laughs. "I hadn't expected for a team of Huntsmen to show." He states before looking to Lilly. "And a Huntress." He adds.

"Who are you?" Anakin asks narrowing his eyes.

"Ah yes!" The man says with realization. "Apologies, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Doctor Merlot. Founder of Merlot Industries, and world renowned scientist."

The man then chuckles darkly. "I'm sorry to cut this short," A loud clang is heard behind them. When they turn around they see a metal door had ceiled them in as the windows had metal shutters begin to close. "I'm afraid I can't have you discovering what I'm doing so you mustn't leave here alive. Farewell Huntsman." The computer then turned to a red light with the words 'Self Destruct Sequence Activated' on it.
