In my years, I've been taught every thing happens for a reason. Those reasons cause change. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes it's hard. But in the end, we're all expected to have a happy ending.

My whole life has been filled with nothing but loss and abandonment.

"They say that abandonment is a wound that never heals. I say only that an abandoned child never forgets."

And that the absence is a house so vast that inside you will pass through its walls and hang pictures on the air.

...All I've ever desired from this wretched life was to feel wanted. To one day be woken up by breakfast in bed, be gifted beautiful roses, and receive a good night kiss before laying to rest. To feel loved for once in my life.

For someone to put me first and not regret doing so. For someone to treat me as if I'm one of a kind and as if I'm irreplaceable. For someone to hug me when I'm sad. Laugh with me when I'm happy. And dream big dreams with me when I'm feeling blessed.

And believe me, I've tried...

I've tried finding that contentment in friendship, in employment, hell, even in myself but there was always one place I've avoided due to the fear of being forsakened again.

Love.

With a blank stare, my head titled upwards to the customer's direction.

After wiping my eyes a couple of times, now puffed, I could see him clear as the morning sunset.

And all I have to say is... Damn!

Entranced by his blue-green hazel emeralds, we as human called eyes, I started to slur my words.

"Y-Yeah... I j-just got hired today." I tried to keep my thoughts together as we exchanged looks.

He had this lazy sexy grin that lined up with his slick jawline perfectly. And although covered up with his black wakanda designed t-shirt, his ripped chest poked out in the light. It was hard not to lose focus while staring at him...
