Elarya looked at the armor they wore, tears forming in her eyes. It was from the legends; made of black gold with small garnets. A purple mist circled each person, and their swords shined like stars.
"Yerv yttrep, ymaeb el gsthni." (She's very pretty, maybe we could do some stuff. Make her unholy.) Some of the soldiers laughed.
"No." Cadoc said. "We cannot touch her, but we can wound her."
"Do not harm her!" A voice called.
"Mother." Elarya whispered, turning around, her dark brown hair following suit as it swept around her head.
Elarya's mother broke down, bowing to Cadoc and his soldiers in submission. "You may take me instead!"
The warriors smirked, a mischevious glint arising in their merciless eyes. "As you wish."
"MOTHER!" Amara screamed.
Whoosh. An arrow flew through the air. But their mother wasn't hit; where it was they knew not.
"Why did you do that?!?" Elarya demanded in rage. "Why would you attempt to kill her?"
Cadoc smiled evilly. "You see, child, we did not try. We did."
A loud cry pierced the forest as the two sisters looked to their mother, now only a pile of golden dust.
"Your mother," Cadoc began, "was lucky. Her death was soundless, without pain. And few there are among the other tribes are able to see the arrow that is of the Star Witch."
"Seren rof evael won llahs el!" (We shall now leave for Seren!)
Time passed by without waiting for the tears of the two to stop as they journeyed through lands unknown. As much as they wanted to gawk and stare in utter awe of the beauty found in The Ever Realms, or the world of Ailith, they could not.
They were now captive, and so was the hope of the world.
