Sage Alan has always wanted a good family.

It was a hot Georgia day and all Sage Alan could think about was her mother, they had never had the best relationship, in-fact she hadn't seen her mom since she was 13. She couldn't help wonder if she was still alive.

Sage was walking in a pretty deserted town she had come across, she wandered into a store in which all she found was a pack of cigarettes. She didn't smoke but she still stored them away into her brown backpack. Sage heard a noise come from a few isles down, a walker. She pulled out the army knife her dad had given her the year before and flipped it open, she walked and stabbed the walker through the skull, "Dammit!" she cursed when she saw the blood spatter on the new green shirt she had found the day before.

She walked out of the store and kept going until she came across a small worn down one story hotel. She walked in and was hit with the stench of mildew and decaying flesh. She pulled out her knife and tied a pink handkerchief around her nose and mouth, among further inspection she found the body of who she assumed was the owner who had committed suicide. He had keys to the rooms in his hand and she found a room that was luckily vacant when this mess began. Everything was intact and clean and she had even found a minibar filled with chips, sodas and a few water bottles, there was even a bag of peanut M&Ms, her favorite.

She layed back into the nicely made bed and opened the bag of her favorite multicolored candies. After eating a few she sat up and pulled out her drawing notebook from her bag, she had always had the talent and constantly found sudden comfort within her art. The piece she was working on was a portrait of her father, she constantly thought of him. He went to prison a year before this began, but not for horrible reasons one may think. Sage always thought highly of him and clings to the hope of finding him one day.

As it got dark she decided to get some rest, she put down her journal and changed into a clean brown tank top that she had also found the day before. She climbed back into the bed and covered herself up, she didn't realize how tired she was until her head hit the pillow. She fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

When Sage woke up it was very bright. She looked at her watch
'10:43'.

"Geez." she said realizing how long she had slept.

Sage had the idea to stay in the small hotel, but decided she should stay on the move. She packed up her things, including a little bar of soap and a stick of deodorant that were in the bathroom, and the minibar snacks of course. She even managed to steal one of the pillows and a throw blanket to fit in her bag. She pulled on her pack and put on her boots and headed in her way.

As Sage walked she saw a big group of walkers, she had no chance of taking them on. There was about 20 and he sad lost her gun the week before. She decided to walk through the woods to avoid them.

Sage had been walking for about an hour, she had been so caught up in her mind she didn't realize how far out into the woods she had ventured. She looked around and saw no clearings, just trees in every direction. She sat down to clear her mind and pulled out a water bottle that's she had taken from the minibar back at the hotel, she dumped some of it on her head after taking some sips and tied her long blonde hair into a braid. As she finished tying her hair she thought she heard someone yelling. After listening for a minute she decided it was in her head. Pulling her backpack on she began to walk again.

"Sophia!"

She definitely heard it that time. She hid behind a tree and poked for the source of the voice, she saw a disoriented man with short dirty hair and a crossbow, he had a string of walker ears around his neck, she didn't trust it. She turned to go the other way and saw about 5 walkers, even if it was a lower number than before it was still too many to take by her lonesome. She decided to make a run for it further into the woods, the opposite direction of the two different death wishes. She didn't make it very far when she heard a snap, suddenly she was in the air. Sage screamed.

When Sage contained herself she had realized that she was in a net trap. The walkers had surrounded the tree below, most definitely attracted by the sound of her scream. Her shoulder was bleeding badly, which she could only assume was done by her knife in which she was holding when she was trapped. There was no sight of the man until she saw crossbow arrows go into all of the walker's heads one by one.
....................................................................................

Daryl was out once again looking for Sophia when he heard a scream. He looked for the source and found walkers surrounding something caught in one of his traps he strut up to catch game, a human. He shot all of the walkers and went to cut the person down. It was a girl. He helped her up and she quickly backed up holding her shoulder which was bleeding pretty badly, a deep cut fell across it. He went towards her to inspect it and she walked backwards.

"Thanks for helping me out, but stay back."
She said looking around the ground frantically searching for something with her eyes.

He questionably held up a knife he had discovered while taking out the dead. She looked mortified and about 2 seconds from bolting if she wasn't so hurt.

"Don't worry girl, I ain't gonna hurt ya."

He handed her the knife. The girl looked young. She was pretty short, about 5'1, blonde hair and her dark brown eyes looked distant. She passed out. Daryl ripped a piece of cloth form his grey tank top and tied it around the wound on her shoulder. Every part of him wanted to leave her there but what if walkers came and got her? Or what if she bled out? He knew he couldn't take her back to the Greene farm, he knew nothing about her and he knew Rick wouldn't be too fond of his actions, but he would come to acceptance seeing how hurt she was.
It was Shane he was worried about, he'd rip his head off. She was just a kid though, maybe 16 or 17 he thought. He decided he didn't care what Shane thought, he was very distracted these days anyway. After the whole Otis thing he had been very distant. He could get Hershel to help her out, especially since Carl had been better and out and about. Also the fact that she was around the age of his youngest daughter probably worked to her advantage. He'd made his decision, he'd take her back then go back out looking for Sophia. He picked up the girl and headed back to the farm.
