The story of Sage Alan (TWD)

Chapter 3

When Sage woke up she felt someone carrying her. She began to struggle and the grip on her grew tighter. She looked up and saw the man from earlier; she also noticed her shoulder had been covered.

"Relax, I'm takin' you to someone who'll help." he said.

Sage nodded still not trusting the man but the shaky feeling in her legs told her she wouldn't be able to run. She noticed he didn't even ask her what her name was, must not be one for small talk. She began to feel dizzy again, blood loss. Once again Sage fell into unconsciousness, her head falling onto the man's shoulder.

When Daryl emerged from the woods he set the girl down to rest his arms and grab a drink of water. He observed a name sewn onto the girls backpack 'Sage'. He figured that was her name, unless she had just found the backpack somewhere. Suddenly he heard a gunshot, he looked ahead and could see Andrea up on the RV, another shot rang out and this one grazed his head. He let out a string of curses and saw two men running towards him. It was Shane and Rick, when they reached him Daryl had two thoughts, one how badly was he hurt, and two would the men see the girl?

"We gotcha." Shane said grabbing Daryl from one side as Rick took the other, glaring at a guilt ridden Andrea.

She blurted out many apologies but Daryl just barely heard, said "Sage."

Rick and Shane gave each other a questioning glance as they began to walk him up the farm. Rick saw a necklace of walker ears around his neck and as an attempt to not piss off Herschel even more he ripped them off and threw them, but when he did he saw a body sprawled out in the grass. He would have just assumed it was a walker but his gut feeling told him to check it out.

"Andrea take over for a sec." He said as she took over holding the other side of Daryl.

Ignoring the look Shane gave him he walked over and saw a young girl, she was alive, and hurt.

He picked her up and Shane said "Who the hell is that?"

"Is this Sage?" Rick questioned Daryl but he was already passed out.

"We'll take her to Herschel with Daryl." Rick said.

"No way in hell Rick, we know nothing bout' her she could be dangerous!" Shane exclaimed.

Rick looked down at the unconscious girl in his arms,"She's just a kid Shane, I'll keep an eye on her, ain't goin' nowhere without me knowin'."

"What if she has a group?" Questioned Andrea.

Rick continued, "We'll figure that out when she wakes up, first lets make sure she don't bleed to death."

Rick, Shane and Andrea began to walk Sage and Daryl to the farmhouse and as they passed the camp questions began to arise. As the news of Daryl being shot and a teenaged girls sudden appearance, Glenn was sent to figure out what was going on.

"Hey man what the hells going on?" The young man questioned.

Rick simply explained that Andrea has mistaken Daryl for a walker and they assume he has found this girl looking for Sophia. When they got to the house Herschel looked angry.

"Rick I told you I didn't want you guys inside nor did I want y'all bringing new folks here!"

But as they got closer the old veterinarian turned doctor realized that both had been badly hurt. Although he still held a slight grudge to Daryl for taking his horse without permission he still knew he needed help. The girl on the other hand, one glance at her pale face and young complexion he was reminded of his youngest daughter Beth.
