when they set you up on a blind date with him 

You couldn’t say that you were really confident that this blind date would go well considering that Taehyung and Jimin orchestrated it.

“trust us Y/n, we’ve known this guy since high school, he’s really cool when he’s not bullying me” was jimin’s pitch

“Jungkook can be...a bit snide and snarky....but you know that’s his charm” was Taehyung’s pitch

whoever this Jungkook guy is, he clearly wasn’t winning any points based on his friends’ descriptions of him.

But still, if they truly thought that low of him, there was no way they’d try and set you up, so you agreed to the blind date.

Jimin chose the aquarium as the location- solely because he got two tickets from his fans.

but you didn’t mind, because if the date went horribly wrong, at least you could look at the pretty fish.

When you entered the aquarium lobby, your eyes scanned around until you saw a guy standing alone, scrolling on his phone.

not gonna lie, with his height and deadpan expression, he came across as extremely intimidating.

“hi... Jungkook?” you ask, causing him to look up.

he nods, pocketing his phone and pointing his head towards the first exhibit.

“mhm, Y/n right? the guys told me about you” he said, holding the door open for you to go in first.

“oh same here!”

“Let me guess... they called me stoic or sarcastic?” he asks, rolling his eyes at the thought of the boys saying that.

you find it hard to bite back a smile, “you guess correctly. I assume you hear that a lot then?”

Jungkook returns the smile, “you assume correctly”

Honestly, he was way better than Jimin and Taehyung set him up to be.

and he was cute- they definitely didn’t mention how cute he was.

However, throughout the aquarium, the two of you made small talk.

He was quiet for the most part, and even though you got to know him, you didn’t think you got to truly know him past surface level knowledge.

Still, you quite liked being with him- even though this was a blind date with a complete stranger, he made you feel at ease.

“Sorry if the conversation seems dry. I'm not the most talkative guy” Jungkook says out of nowhere when the two of you are at the shark exhibit.

“Oh really? I couldn’t tell” you start by teasing him, but you quickly continue your thoughts.

“It's fine though, I’m still having fun and I figure that in the future I'd get to learn more about you. I’m in no rush” you shrug.

You swear that even in this dim lighting, you can see Jungkook blush a bit. “Oh? does that mean we’re up for a second date?” he teases back.

you give him a playful push but nod. the boys were right, he acted in a way that could annoy you, but strangely, you found that all the more attractive.

Maybe it was Jungkook pushing himself, or maybe it was just the natural progression of the date, but he did end up talking just a bit more, sharing his thoughts and having more in-depth discussions with you. 

By the end of the date, you had a giant crush on him, and was feeling quite lucky that a second date was guaranteed. 

Jungkook did do one last thing to surprise you. He stopped by the aquarium gift shop and bought you a large plushie of  
sea turtle, commenting on how cute it was. “kinda like you” he murmured, but loud enough so you could hear and become flustered.

when he did see you all nervous and shy, he of course teased you even more about that. Was he trying to get you to fall for him more? well it definitely worked.

although you wouldn’t tell him that- maybe not until a few more dates had passed, But like you said, you were in no rush.
