When you first met Jungkook, the first thing you remembered was how cold his hands were. But of course, it seemed rude to tell that to a stranger, so you buried this thought into the back of your mind. Now you were dating him, and while this fact slipped out of your mind, it didn’t take long for you to recall it when someone else brought it up.

One morning, you had breakfast plans with Jungkook, taehyung, and Jimin, a common tradition the four of you had for a while now. As you approached the restaurant, you saw the three, seemingly arguing about something.

Jimin nudged Jungkook, “Look, Y/n’s here. Why don’t you ask them!” Jungkook turned to you, rolling his eyes at the boys.

“Alright Y/n, these two idiots here think that I have cold hands. Tell them that they’re wr-”
“Oh you do.” you answered instantly, and both boys high five one another.

“I- excuse me?” Jungkook asked, somewhat taken aback by your statement.
“Yeah, that’s why I don’t hold your hand sometimes. I love you Koo, but yours are just too cold!” you explained, and Jungkook still remains expressionless.

“I think your nerves are just sensitive,” Jungkook muttered, causing Taehyung and Jimin to burst out in laughter.

It was a fun moment, and as the four of you hurry into the restaurant for breakfast, you miss the way Jungkook looks at his hands and frowns.

The next time you see Jungkook is a few days later, waiting at the bus stop so the two of you could walk around town and do some light shopping together.

Jungkook’s hands were stuffed in his pocket, but when he saw you he took them out and proceeded to grab your hand, hurriedly walking towards a store.

“We better hurry, before that one shop you wanted to go to gets crowded” he murmurs, and although something felt off about his gesture, you couldn’t exactly pinpoint it so you let it go.

The day went well. Thanks to Jungkook and his tactic of rushing you, you were able to shop before the store got too crowded for comfort. For the most part the day went well, but you did notice something a bit strange.

Jungkook kept shoving his hands into his pockets for some time when you were shopping around, but when it was time to walk around the area and to the next store, he immediately took them out to hold your hand, walking with you to the next destination. But then again, just because it was rare to see Jungkook do that didn’t mean it was anything to be suspicious about.

By the end of the trip, Jungkook once again took his hands out of his pocket, but in the process something fell out and onto the floor. You reacted before he did, swiftly bending down to pick the object up.

“..Koo, is this a hand warmer?” you ask, giving the object a light squeeze to confirm your findings. And then it hit you.

The conversation that occurred earlier that week.
“I just thought it’d be more comfortable for you to hold my hand if they weren’t so cold..” he murmurs, looking away from you to avoid eye contact.

You pause to think about it. Your adorable boyfriend was upset that you found his hands too cold to hold sometimes. So he went and bought hand warmers, stuffed them into the pockets of his jacket and would warm his hands as often as he could to make sure you were okay with holding his hands. A part of you felt guilty for making him feel that way, but at the same time you nearly melted from how cute he was.

You immediately wrap your arms around him, squeezing him close to you. “Ahhhhhhh, please Koo you’re so cute I’m going to explode” you mumble as you bury your face into him.

“Please, I didn’t mean to make you feel self conscious about this, but you’re so cute for wanting to do something about it” you squeal, wondering how you manage to date someone so precious.

Suddenly you feel your cheeks being cupped, and for the first time, they don’t feel like someone pressed ice to them.

Jungkook looks down as he lifts your face up to look at him. First he gives you a brief kiss, and under his breath you hear him whisper ‘I love you’.

Then he suddenly squeezes your cheeks close with one hand so that your lips pucker. “but if you tell taehyung and jimin about this, I will keep ice cubes in my pocket instead”

You scoff at this- you knew this was all a bluff. He’d never consider giving up holding hands with you. Who is he fooling?
