*BrrrRrrrRRrrrIiinnng*
*BrrrRrrrRRrrrIiinnng*

*BRRRRIIIIINNNNNNGGG*

"Ugh..." Lyric grumbled as she rolled over to the side of her head.
She looked at her phone, which was the source of the ringing, and searched for the time display. All she saw on the screen was someone's face (an embarrassing picture, mind you). It was a man with a serious expression and eyepatch depression.

Nick Fury.

Although, Lyric had the name set to "Patchy" on her phone.

Lyric yawned as she reached for her phone on the bedside table. However, with every movement, she moved extremely lazily.

When she finally had the phone up to her ear, she answered it with a "Yeah?"

"Heft. Do you know how long I've been trying to reach you?" Fury said on the other line impatiently.
Lyric fiddled with her messy, red hair and replied, somewhat aloof, "Nope."

Lyric heard Fury sigh before he began talking again, "Well, did you get my message last night?"

She thought back to the night before. 1. She went to that bar. 2. Drank, but never got drunk. 3. Came home and went to bed. Scratch that, she looked at her phone before she checked out.

"You mean the one where you said that you were moving the barbecue to Stutgaard? Yeah, I got that one. Hey, I looked it up, and Stutgaard is NO WHERE near Brooklynn. Unless you're paying for my flight, I'm not going, man." Lyric answered casually.

Fury almost audibly facepalmed and corrected her, "Heft, I said that we're moving to Stutgaard. We already went and now we're coming back."
Lyric was silent for a moment. Finally, she asked, "So the barbecue's still at Tony's today, right?"
Fury cut her last word off short and said, "Why are you still asking me about barbecue? We went to Stutgaard because if that god-guy, Loki. We're coming back to Brooklynn 'cause we caught him. We need you 'cause he ain't talking to any of us."

Lyric suddenly remembered the S.H.I.E.L.D. report on the attack on a base in the desert. It didn't say much on the specifics, but it did say that the Tesseract frozen with Captain America was stolen.
Well, that's not good.

"Alright then. What time they picking' me up?" Lyric wondered as she began to get her clothes out.
Fury replied before abruptly hanging up, "About five seconds. Make sure you're not seen. Be nice to the new crew, please."

Lyric threw her phone, carelessly, into an open bag that was near her.
She then continued to shuffle through her clothes when she swiftly stopped. She looked down at her chest and cursed, "Damn, I forgot my binder."
Once she had her binder on, Lyric stared at herself in the mirror, smiling but not quite satisfied. "This one's kinda old. I'll order a new one when I get back."

She continued to rummage through her drawers when she finally decided on an old rock band shirt, comfortable jeans and her combat boots. Lyric smiled at the boots and commented fondly to herself, "Nat would approve of this outfit."

As Lyric was putting stuff in her duffle bag, she noticed that the game Connect 4 was still in it.
She must have forgotten to pack it into the Barton kids' backpack before she brought them back to Clint and Laura's place.
That's right, Lyric was a babysitter.

Well, not a local one, like, for the public. Just for anyone who asks her personally (usually another agent of some kind at S.H.I.E.L.D.)
And, really, she only babysits the Barton kids frequently. So she does not exactly do it for the money, per se.

Anyways, she decided that she'd give it to Clint the next time she saw him. Which would probably be when she meets up with the rest of the team.

Lyric finally finished up packing and grabbed her duffle bag to meet the collection squad. She figured that they would be on the roof because they usually were, so she ran up the stairs to the roof of her apartment building. Lyric had her hand raised the entire time to make sure that no one could hear or see her running up the stairs.
Reason number one for her S.H.I.E.L.D. work.

As she opened up the door to the roof of the building, Lyric heard the shuffling of feet on the concrete.

She closed the door quietly and looked across the rooftop.
In the middle of her vision, there sat a large grey and black aircraft that was about twenty by forty feet.

"Oi! Cargo approaching!" Yelled an older man with a bushy grey mustache. He had these dark gold-tinted glasses that covered most of the upper half of his face. He was rather short, as well.

Lily darted her head towards the man's an recognized him immediately, "Hey, Captain Lee. Thought there was a new crew taking me up?"
Captain Lee took Lyric's duffle bag from her before handing it to another crew member. They both began walking back to the plane, the captain explaining, "This is my last mission, Miss Heft. I'm retiring in a couple weeks."

Lyric responded sort of sadly, "Aw, really? And they assigned you to me for ol' times sake?"
Captain Lee shrugged, "I actually requested it."
Lyric nodded understandingly, Captain Lee had been her assigned pilot ever since she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. It was bittersweet for her to see him retire.
"Don't go cryin' on me now." Captain Lee teased, helping Lyric into the plane.
Lyric scoffed and denied his assistance for her boarding, "I ain't crying, old man. Just gonna miss ya."

Captain Lee laughed and went to his cockpit, leaving Lyric to buckle up and brace for takeoff. She looked out the window of the aircraft as it began it's ascent. She wondered about her mission and the subject to which she would be talking to. But she also wondered if there would even be a barbecue that day.
